06/30/10 - Day 1 - Practice Games - Independence Day Showcase  - Boulder Colorado
 
It was a beautiful day in Boulder with blue skies and temperatures in the low 90's. Teams from all over the country gathered for a day of practice games at several locations around Boulder, Colorado. Here is a rundown of several games held at Stazio Fields 5, 6, &7. Games were 1 hour and 15 minutes with teams from Atlanta, Minnesota, New Jersey, Texas, California, Oklahoma, Oregon, Illinois, Washington, and Florida.
 
Victory USA 0 vs NJ Intensity 0
Kiana Quolas (2011) and Sidney White (2012) combined on a 5 hitter for Victory USA while 2013 pitcher Jordan Weed and Audrey Plant (2010 commit to Delaware) combined to throw a 4 hitter for Intensity.
 
Victory USA 3 vs Orland Parks Sparks  0
KIana Quolas (2011) and Sidney White (2012) combined on a 4 hitter in shutting down the Orland Park Sparks.
 
Victory USA 7 vs Absolute Blast 4
2011 OF Jenny Wunderlich had a RBI double to lead Victory over the Blast.
 
Atlanta Vipers Seamon 3 - Clearwater Lady Bombers 1
Kim McMillan, 2010 commit to Purdue, had 2 doubles while Katie Block, a 2011 SS/C, had a double and was also impressive with several defensive gems for the Atlanta Vipers.  Pitcher Shelby Scott, 2011 - P, was 2-2 at the plate while pitching herself out of trouble several times
 
Clearwater Lady Bombers 4 vs So Cal Breakers 1
2011 catcher Alex Breeden, jacked a solo shot in the 1st inning for the Lady Bombers.
 
Explosion Gold 11 vs OK Jitterbugs 0
Mary Grabowski, a 2012 C/1B went 2-2 with 2 HR's while Alex Fieldhouse (2010 commit to East Carolina) tripled as Explosion run ruled the Jitterbugs. Grabowski had a solo shot and a 2 run bomb and continued to draw the praise of college coaches. 2011 pitcher Alexis (AC) Borden allowed only 1 hit and 0 walks for Explosion.
 
Explosion Gold 3 vs NW Bullets 0
2011 Pitcher, Ally Hecht, allowed only 1 hit against a very good NW Bullets team as she outdueled Nebraska bound 2011 pitcher, Emily Holt.
 
Texas Glory 3 vs Irvine Sting 2
Shelby Carter, 2012 middle infielder, led Glory with a double and an RBI while 2011 pitcher Ciara Clampitt picked up the win on the mound.
 
Texas Glory 5 vs SD Renegades 3
Shelby Carter, 2012 OF, once again did well going 1-2 with a run scored as Glory went 2-0 on the day.

NJ Pride 2 vs So Cal Breakers 1
 
 
Coaches were in abundance today at Stazio fields 5-7 as coaches from Notre Dame, Wright State, Northwestern, Providence, Tulsa, Purdue, Villanova, South Dakota State, McNeese State, Bradley, George Washington, Stonybrook, Oregon State, Oklahoma State, Texas, Arkansas, Northwestern State, Pacific, Hawaii, Rutgers, Boston U, St Johns, Troy, Monmouth, Nebraska, Akron, Georgia, Penn, Portland State, UIC and several others were seen at the complex.
 
Tonight, there will be 4 All Star games with players from 2013, 2012, 2011, and 2010 playing simultaneously at the main fields
 
More to come tomorrow as pool play starts for the Independance Day, Fireworks and Sparkler tournaments.

TC Tremors Gold 13th in 130-team softball tournament

Staff report • July 5, 2010, 10:35 pm

AURORA, Colo. -- The TC Tremors Gold Under-18 softball team finished in 13th place out of 130 teams at the Colorado Fireworks Fourth of July Tournament.

After a 7-0 start, the Tremors fell to the California American Pastime 8-5 in the round of 16, pushing them into the loser's bracket. The Pastime finished fifth overall.

The Tremors got a two-run homer from Gabby Luety in a 4-1 victory over the Nevada Rage Gold. Next came the Texas Impact Gold. After tying the game 5-5 in the fifth inning, the Tremors gave up three runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Tremors failed to score in the seventh, and the 8-5 loss eliminated them from the tournament. The Impact finished fourth.

The Tremors will host the STOP-DWI softball tournament at BAGSAI beginning with exhibition games Thursday night. Tournament play runs Friday through Sunday.
