2009 PCSC Commissioner's Honor Roll Announced

PORTLAND – A total of 59 student-athletes were named to the 2009 Pacific Coast Softball Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, PCSC Commissioner Wendy Guthrie announced Thursday. To be eligible for the honor roll, a student-athlete must have been eligible to participate during the 2009 season and recorded at least a 3.0 GPA during the 2008-09 academic year.

 

Loyola Marymount and Santa Clara each placed a conference-high 13 players on the honor roll. PCSC Champion Portland State had 11 players named to the honor roll.

 

The following is a list of the 2009 PCSC Commissioner Honor Roll selections by individual school:

PORTLAND, Ore. - Thirteen players from LMU's softball team have been named to the 2009 Pacific Coast Softball Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, PCSC Commissioner Wendy Guthrie announced Thursday. The 13 Lions honored were tied for the most from any of the six teams in the conference, as a total of 59 student-athletes gained the recognition. To qualify, a student-athlete must have been eligible to participate during the 2009 season and have recorded at least a 3.0 grade-point average during the 2008-09 academic year.

Seniors Megan Ackerman (2006 and 2008) and MiaSarah Cesena (2007 and 2008) highlighted the LMU honorees, having each been recognized for the third time in their careers. Juniors Melissa Dykema, J.J. Hartung, Emma May, and Darcy Pagnini and sophomores Amy Charpentier and Jennifer Nayudu were each honored for the second time. Junior Christine Foley and freshmen Katrina Bodewig, Corie Goodman, Stephanie Hughes, and Brittany Pereda round out the LMU selections with their first placing on the honor roll.

LMU's 13 players recognized were the most-ever in the history of the program, topping last year's total of 11. Santa Clara also placed 13 on this year's Commissioner's Honor Roll.
