		I'm sure I'm not telling anybody anything they already didn't know, but I wanted to compliment Gary and his team putting in the extra effort this past weekend at the Surf City Showcase. We showed up and warmed up for our first game Friday (18Gold pool) and our opponent, without letting anybody know, had pulled out of the tournamnet. It was too late to reschedule and we ended up scrimmaging ourselves. I sent Gary a quick e-mail that night (just to let him know, obviously it wasn't his fault) so other teams didn't suffer the same fate. The next morning, at 8am, there was one of his coaches, to offer us a chance to make up that game against Gary's Batbusters on Sunday afternoon. We took him up on it and had a great game with them. What made it special was this - ALL THE OTHER TEAMS HAD GONE HOME. The last games of the tournament were to be at 11:30am. Gary had his team (and not just nine girls, but the whole team with Amanda Williams in the circle) stay late, with a drive ahead for many of them, to give us that make up game. I've been to many tournaments, and every so often, a team doesn't show and that's just "too bad." But Gary made things right and really put in the extra effort (not to mention the "extra innings"). Anyhow, his class and character never ceases to amaze. I just wanted to pass along a quick story.
