<< Are they out injured? How about Mel Olmos? is she injured? >> (girlerl)

Parker, Clifton and Olmos did not play in any of the 4 games Oklahoma played on Friday & Saturday. It is a reasonable guess that they have some type of injury. Or... perhaps they were all suspended for having illegal connections to shoe companies...

<< Just don't think Conrad will be effective for OU >> (SEC fan91)

Stay tuned. She pitched very well last night.
It will be interesting to see how she fits in as the 2018 season develops.

Oklahoma played double headers on Friday and Saturday...  and went 4-0, outscoring their opponents 32-1. They hit .380 with a .471 OBP and a .590 SLG%... while holding their opponents to .086/.108/.099. Sooner pitchers posted a 0.28 ERA and struck out 36 batters in 25 IP with just 2 BB.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

In Saturday's afternoon game - Oklahoma beat Seminole State 3-0 as 3 pitchers combined for a 2 hit shutout. Nicole Mendes started in the circle and gave up 2 hits in 3 IP while striking out 3 and walking none. Mariah Lopez pitched the 4th & 5th and allowed no base runners and SO 2. Paige Lowary pitched the final two innings and SO 3.

In the 2nd, Jocelyn Alo doubled to RC after Knighten had walked - to put runners on 2nd & 3rd. Raegan Rogers singled to LF to drive in the first run. Then Lea Wodach executed a squeeze bunt to score the second run.

In the 6th, Pendley singled and was replaced by Mendes who stole second base - and went to 3rd on a throwing error. Knighten brought her home with a SF.

*************************************

In the late game - the Sooners beat Northern Oklahoma 10-0 in 5 innings. Parker Conrad started in the circle and gave up just one hit in 4 IP and SO 5. M.Lopez pitched 5th inning and SO 2 of the 3 batters she faced.

Mendes led off the game with a double. Pendley singled to put runners on 1st and 3rd. Romero singled in Mendes. Aviu walked... and then Knighten blasted a 3 run HR. 4-0 Sooners.

They added 5 more runs in the third inning. Knighten walked with the bases loaded, then Alo and Wodach each had two run doubles.
Kylie Lundberg added a solo HR in the 4th to make the score 10-0.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The hitting stars of the day were:
Alo - 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, a single & 2 RBI
Knighten - 1 for 3 with a HR, 2 BB, 2 runs & 4 RBI
Romero - 2 for 4 with 2 singles, a SF, 2 runs & 2 RBI
Pendley - 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles & a run
Wodach - 1 for 2 with a double, a squeeze bunt & 3 RBI
Lundberg - 1 for 2 with a HR, 1 run & 1 RBI
Rogers - 1 for 2 with a single, a BB, 1 run & 1 RBI

I understand that Clifton had an excused absence for family purposes

My bet is that Missy Lombardi wanted to see the new pitchers plus allow Nicole Mendes a start and give her some innings.

There is no reason for Parker to throw practice games against jc teams.

You are correct as Clifton had an excused absence. Olmos has been nursing a prior injury and has seen limited duty on practice. Parker doesn't need this practice against this competition. We all know she will answer the bell when needed. We need to call her P cubed. Postseason Paige Parker.

I heard Parker Condrad threw hard and looked good. The opinion was that she's going to be an asset going forward.
