Why is it that......
When democrats get caught, (cheating on taxes, committing perjury, taking bribes, conflict of interest, taking money from Rezco, having gay prostitution ring ran from their home, having sex with interns, taking sweetheart deals from Countyrwide, etc...) they fight tooth and nail to stay in office and other democrats step up to defend them in spite of their guilt?
Yet when Republicans are accused of something regardless of how trivial, (tapping their foot under a bathroom stall, sending a text to an intern, paying a compliment to Strom Thurmond at his birthday party),  they almost always step down. I can only think of 1 republican who fought like a democrat to stay, the turd from SC who was cheating on his wife.
Why is that?

Griz - You've pointed out that no Party owns corruption. That said, you then attempt to make one less corrupt than the other because they resign more than the other does when caught being corrupt?
That is some perspective! Do you feel persecuted in terms of treatment of "your Party", and is your premise valid or merely a perspective from where you perceive reality? Are you saying that one corrupt group is more honorable than the other corrupt group?

Because the Liberal Hearted Press who is supposed to point out the faults of government slants the news in one direction. There is a bias. MSLSD is proof positive of the liberal stance. Look at MSLSD's Chris Matthews with the tingly feeling running up his leg.

I do hope the Rangel and Waters fight it out in the House Chamber against the corruption charges that finally came to light. He's a pimp from Harlem. She's a poverty pimp from California and the biggest windbag of all the female politicians on Capitol Hill. Hope they both go down harshly. They're demises will help at the polls on November 2. So much for draining the swamp eh Nancy?

JG, seriously educate me. Are the Republican offenses as serious as the democrats? In the last 20 years, please compare the "offenses" of Republicans to that of democrats and the resulting punishment. I really would like to know.
I know with the democrats we have: cheating on taxes, committing perjury, taking bribes, conflict of interest, taking money from Rezco, having gay prostitution ring ran from their home, having sex with interns, taking sweetheart deals from Countrywide, receiving illegal campaign contributions, infidelity, and much much more.
What do we have with Republicans? Tapping their foot under a bathroom stall, sending a text to an intern, paying a compliment to Strom Thurmond at his birthday party, calling someone "Macacca (SP)", and infidelity.
JG, I know you will not respond with anything other than semantics, but it would be nice to see you actually point out where I have it wrong.

Grizz, In your original post, I find that you posed a question.  As of yet I have not seen an answer.  I think part of it is wharf PGP suggested, media scrutiny and pressure.

Wanna, maybe this is a better response...more to your liking?

"Grizz, what republicans need to do when they get caught is switch @%*&^
parties "

Yes, that is a much better response...sort of fits the wave of thought on this thread don't you think?

Griz - Since you know that I will answer with "semantics", and I know that you wouldn't change your perspective if you were hit with a thunderbolt from above, there really isn't much sense in our wasting all this space, is there?

JG, I was serious when I said that I would like you to educate me on this. If I am wrong, I want to know. If it is the same on both sides then show me. From my limited knowlege, I have seen far worse things from the democrats, which I listed a few, than I have seen from the republicans. Yet the republicans still, in most cases, step down, while democrats fight to keep their seat in spite of worse offenses.

massare, Try growing up.  Whether you like it or not, agree or not, my response to Grizz was legit.  Your first offering was witty and humorous, your second was typically sarcastic and unnecessary.  Some might suggest sniping.

Griz - I truly don't know whether they are treated or act differently, and I certainly am not going to do the extensive research necessary to find out. If I knew statistics, I would gladly share them with you. I'm just not that interested in the topic beyond the initial idea that both political parties contain members who are corrupted, unethical or immoral.
PS - Yesterday, one of my grandchildren called from New Jersey and asked me the date when The Great Wall of China was begun. I told her that I didn't know, but that I knew it was built to keep out roving bands of Manchus. There was silence, and then she said, "But Grandpa, I thought that you knew everything". I assured her that I do not, and then I googled it for her - 7th century. If I could google your question, I truly would, but no more than that.

PGP - And you will be different when you are 75? That's accumulated wisdom (whether right or wrong) that you are looking at, kid. (kidding with the "kid").

JG - I get along better with old timers from Baseball like Roland Hemond (former Baltimore GM & Chi WS GM) & Al LaMacchia (former VP Toronto & current Dodgers Scout) than I do with most of the people my age. Can't change me at my age.
