This is what true freshman, Jocelyn Alo has done so far in the 2018 season:

G AB H 2B 3B HR EBH TB HB BB SO SF SB CS R RBI BA OBP SLG OPS
21 60 29 4 0 9 13 60 1 12 7 1 3 0 21 23 .483 .568 .1.000 1.568

She is one hit shy of having a .500 BA.
She is averaging one HR per every 2.33 games.
She is averaging one HR per every 6.67 at bats.
She is averaging one EBH per every 4.62 at bats.
She is averaging one run scored per game played.
She is averaging 1.10 RBI per game played.
She has earned her way on base 57% of the time.
She is averaging one TB per at bat.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

List any other freshman players that might be deserving of Freshman POY - so far...
and mention if they are a true freshman (or a red shirt freshman).

Saw this https://m.herosports.com/d1-softball/vote-freshman-best-start-season-haff-prebble-novegil-blbl
Only 5 out of hundreds of candidates I think Aaliyah Jordan, gabbie plain are strong candidates for FPOTY.
Way too many great freshmen to narrow then down, I think once conference play starts we will see which play separates them selves from the rest.

It is Aaliyah Jordan's to lose... though she will be facing much better pitching than Alo going forth.

If Plain keeps that pretty 0 in the loss column through the Pac, she may have a Pac claim.... But I would never give it to a Saturday starter over an everyday, top-of-the-order stud

If Mady J can come back to full strength, the UCLA line-up will be INSANE!

When measured by owp only (from the ncaa site, numbers in parens are national rank):

WA - .596 (34)
UCLA - .595 (36)
OK - .552 (86)

Plain will be fine with SOS as she goes forward in the pac. She already has more than 1/3 of her innings against top 40 rpi teams, and should get good innings against the best of the pac if she can handle it.

March 23rd, If you’re thinking it’s for academic reasons, I’m in the same boat.

Sure. For the most part (although she may get some Alvelo trouble innings too). Same lineups though.

An advantage Plain has is that nobody in the Pac has seen her. They're very familiar with Alvelo.

What an informative list of information. It is useful for freshmen as it will guide them get information for their continued study. They can get Case Study Papers that will be useful in their studies and assignments

Henry gave his opinion regarding FPOY. Everyone else knows a Big 12 player could never qualify. No problem.
