Dang at putting Marcy Harper and Jenna Abbott in the same category. Boy has AU softball evolved.

Jayrot is lost ever since his/her Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fell off a cliff.  Furthermore, Jayrot loves taking shots at FSU.

Really?  The off the cliff part I don't care about.  The taking shots at FSU part I do (taking shots at King maybe).  I think Lonni is awesome.  I was actually pulling for FSU in that tournament (how can you not with how Warren returned at the end of the year).  I just don't like King ... at all ... probably because I sat next to her parents during a USA vs Puerto Rico game last year and didn't leave with a good opinion of them.

Completely understand.  I just don't want them getting any secondary excitement from their kid doing well.  So i just chose to focus on how great Warren was and how good of a coach Lonni is.

And maybe they are great people, I know 3LT loves them from the GCH days, but I just didnt get that same feeling.  Just an opinion thing.

I ain’t bothered by UGA being formidable. You’re right they would. Of the teams she’s looking at they have the best offense to support her. And as much as I hate to admit it, Athens is a great college town (had two siblings graduate from UGA).

Now, based on your whacky post... I am wondering what Casey Elish or Mike Kleist did to you...LOFL

The Kings are tremendous people. Made dinner and drove it down to my wife from 30 miles away weekly when she was sick, on top of so much else.

Yeah, my perspective is vastly different.

Plus, look at how a line of pitchers (some lightly recruited as she was) who have developed into AAs with him.

I think sweet 16 is going to be tough with what they lost and what they have coming in (with or without Saile). Unless,of course, they can transfer in some better bats as well.

I don't know how highly Moore was recruited, but she was the small school player of the year as a senior and a 1st team all-state CA selection and first team max preps AA. She wasnt on a super prominent travel team, so I imagine that stunted her recruiting, but she was pretty darn good, even as a freshman. Hawkins, too, although I know she did develop other pitches at OR to complement her rise, her best era was as a freshman (yes, having Moore certainly helped that). Kleist also under the radar, but let's be fair, she was delivered to White in pretty good shape. Her delivery today is nearly exactly the same as it was 2 years ago (she throws harder, and she throws more rise balls but she's not a fundamentally different pitcher). She has improved to AA level, but I think that would have been true in any good program. And then you have Elish and Balint. Both highly rated, on different trajectories it seems. Elish seems to have better control and more focus (and also throws rise more) and has improved to AA level. Balint has struggled, with mostly the mental side of things and her role, which you would think a top developer of talent would be able to help with.

So, though your statement is technically true, I wonder how many of these players would be AA at any other good school. I think all of them. So, while White is certainly a great evaluator (and finder) of talent I don't know if his reputation as perhaps the top pitcher developer,is wholly deserved.

Just hilarious?

Who else recruited those kids?

It is about identification, and development

What do you mean Kleist was 'delivered in pretty good shape'

She was injured for HS and travel senior seasons IIRC

Funny crock of sewage there

I knew it would be. You are much closer to them than I ever will be. Take it for what you want. I’m just not a fan and that’s fine.

As for Elish and Kleist. Never met any of them. But they also aren’t pitchers that interest me in terms of the game. That’s an ok thing. Everyone has players they like and players that they aren’t in awe of - I’m not mesmerized by them. My original comment about discussing them was just in reference to them being your DDs best friends, so obviously there’s a connection there.

Is that what accounts for a fan liking Garcia (dang I’d give my left arm to have her on my team) and not Elish/Kleist? Or are you just mad I don’t care for the Oregon pitchers? Is that not ok to now bow to them as deities?

Why do you not care for them?

I just don’t have any interest when I watch them pitch. I don’t dislike them. It’s more just apathy towards them.

Very few recruited Hawkins or Kleist as I said. White is very good at evaluating and finding them as I've said. But do you seriously think that Moore, Hawkins or Kleist would not have been AA at say FSU or WA? If you think that you are delusional. As to Megan she had a very weird injury, yes, but the point is she still threw with the same nearly perfect mechanics she has now. White didn't teach her that and if you ask her she'll tell you the exact same thing.

I will say, White engenders raging animosity in some people

I DO believe that Alvelo would have been an All-American at Oregon. Without a doubt.

I don't have raging animosty toward White. I do have healthy skepticism about some of his accolades knowing some of the stuff that has gone on and his results in the biggest games with the talent he's had.

Alvelo is a 2018 AA with WA. If you're talking about 2017, you may be right. There were some special circumstances there that they corrected later on. Not winning the conference had an effect as well. It wouldn't have been because OR did anything different with her developmentally, though.

Def a great offense. This has always been the case. I fear Saile would leave championshipless like the other pitching staff carriers Lu has had. To go the distance you HAVE TO HAVE A STAFF. 2+ elite level arms. Saile would have to carry the team on the defensive end.
