Cunningham was just kicked off the team this past week. Dawson transfered after just one year Smith jumped ship as well I keep hearing rumors that Beth is degrading and bullies her players as well as play favorites. A few posters on TD seem to have an inside scoop. Apparently a lot of the players want out but can't. How can someone explain how Sanchez and Quinn were full time starters without any competition. Doyle already seems like a bust and Springfield can't compete at this level/ It seems like LSU is in trouble right now, their recruiting looks to be trending downwards. The incoming freshman class doesn't seem to be good. I don't understand why they can't recruit good players. Someone told me Sunseri is overrated as a pitcher but I thought she was suppose to be good. The offense seemed really off this year too. Why does the LSU offense seem to underwhelm despite having decent players. Can Beth fix these problems? I want LSU to get back to an elite level

Wasn't LSU at the WCWS just a month or so ago?  [confused]

Yes but I don't see them going back for a bit since Landry and Jaquish are gone. There don't seem to be an elite talent left on the team besides pitching. I am worried about the position players and the offense. No one on roster now is capable of being elite.

This nonsense is definitely going to activate the Batsignal for a certain poster

A guy on TD said Nikki Dawson would score 2-3 runs a game, and he was serious.

Losing arguably the top 3 position players in program history in a two year period will lead to rebuilding most places.

How good is Shelbi Sunseri and Antoine suppose to be? Apparently both players are average  but not elite

LSU needs a better offense though. Serious question though, do yall think LSU has the players to be great on offense or is there a coaching philosophy problem?

You think we should wait until they maybe play a game before considering that? Nah, crazy talk.

What about the offense? I don't think Dobson can develop an elite offense. LSU's batters have way too many flaws.

LSU will never win a national title unless they improve offensively. They have zero power as well.

Hasn't this been the concern about LSU for years? Their offense? They've done well enough so far and who knows maybe Doyle and Springfield are more comfortable now. Players transfer for lots of reasons as well, and most of the players seem to love Torina. I think it'll be alright. I surely didn't expect them to beat FSU once let alone twice, so i'm sure they'll find a way... they always do...

Between this thread and the #FireWalton one, I have discovered that more and more idiots are getting access to computers or smart phones.

I am just asking, its a legit question

LSU needs to recruit better to be able to win it all. The position players for next year aren't talented enough to do it. If it weren't for Jaquish and Bianka Bell, LSU doesn't make the CWS. They are no longer here so who is going to step up.

Amanda Doyle and Springfield seem serviceable but not ones that can elevate a program. Doyle was way over hyped coming out HS and she didn't do well for the Junior National team. She hit .230 on the season which is horrible. Springfield just strikes out way too much.

Serrett and Andrews are just role players. There aren't any more all american type players on this team or in the incoming class.

Beth Torina needs to make some adjustments quickly before it all spirals down hill

I will vouch for this.  I remember it well.  His words were something like "All you have to do is put Dawson in the lineup and she is good for 2-3 runs a game...guaranteed"

Dude didn't get the memo that SEC pitching is slightly better than the less than stellar HS pitching in the BR area.

I will be honest, I am almost glad Dawson transferred.  The fans who called for her to play all year long can finally STFU.  I honestly didn't think she was that great.  She probably could have started this year if she decided to hang around....but she can be replaced.

I didn't know that Cunningham had been booted from the team.  Coaches tend to not boot kids for no good reason..

As far as the program in general, the kids seem to love Torina.  She is very demanding, but you reap what you sow.  If you aren't a kid who wants to get better, then she probably isn't the right coach for you.

And as proof, why would Bourg leave and then come back after a year?  I get why she left...Nicholls offered her a guaranteed chance to play every day.  But if the situation at LSU was so bad, then why would she come back?

I think people who start threads like this are the ones who are just trying to stir the pot.

Yeah, I think we have found our troll.

Yes, Serrett had a few more errors last year toward the end, but she has the potential to be a .300 hitter who makes the all-SEC-defensive team.

And yeah, Andrews is also a role player.  She will play the role of left fielder and lead-off hitter next year. Her role last year was to hit .339 with almost 130 AB.

I think Dawson will be good at Baylor and we'll regret losing her but it'll be great for her to get away from the helicopter high school fans/coaches/etc. that clearly hung on her every movement while she was in BR.

I agree.  Dawson is a good fit at Baylor.  Glenn Moore loves road-runner type players and he will find a way to use her speed.  And it may do Dawson some good to get away from the "serial-clingers" that you reference above.

Sorry to hear about Cunningham getting the boot. I tend to be partial to players from SE Ohio since they are rare.

Any reason given for her being let go?

Apparently she got in trouble breaking team rules during the first month of the season, she was never really seen again. She went from the 2nd string catcher to 4th.

She looked like one of the better players on the team in the fall scrimmages.

She never did get her stuff together and her scholarship was pulled.

LSU has now lost two top 30 players from its 2016 class.

The rest of the class is essentially trash now besides Andrews

Springfield and Doyle aren't SEC caliber players, both aren't good at all.  They are automatic outs at the plate every time. Both have poor batting mechanics as well

It seems, there's been some references to me on this thread, so I'll comment..............

I don't know who Grindz is, but, there are some good points being made............Now, I do know a bit about the LSU softball program............They're a player in the recruiting area where I work with players, so it's my business to know............

So far, Torina's been able to recruit good enough to overcome the team's poor hitting............Not so much in conference play - not so good - but she's had favorable enough match-ups in post-season to allow their talent to extend their season.............As for developing players - they simply don't do it.............

Recruiting is getting tougher for Torina............I won't get into the particulars, but it is...........The circles I travel in is telling me so............

I stop short of mentioning individual players in my comments............But, I could if I wanted to............I choose not to............

All the travel ball coaches for the most part hate Torina and don't like the way she handles her program.

Now LSU is never in the running for top prospects.

Her next few classes have no elite talent either. It'll likely get worse soon enough.

Joe might need to start looking now for a new coach after next years horrendous season

If Beth wants to keep her job she needs to fire Dobson. He is known as a really poor hitting instructor.

None of his hitters ever develop. Doyle and Springfield got worse with each game this year, same with Sanchez

Serrett comes in and hits .300 then spirals backwards this year

Was the Same for Griggs.

I don't understand why Leftwich is on staff, she doesn't do very much besides scout and kinda recruit.
