When he came here, he was well regarded. he has improved us but I think he has reached his limit. We have a lot of flaws 1-9 . Zero consistency over the years. Players come in and don't seem to develop, they flat line.

All I want for him is to make adjustments to our hitters than what he normally teaches. We need a fresh breath of somethin different. What we are doing now isn't
working.
LSU will have an extremely bad patch soon if we can't elevate our offense

What's Beth going to do for a catcher? After kicking highly recruited sophomore Cunningham off the team, she's having Springfield and a backup shortstop work as a catchers.

Good thing Hoover had that knee surgery and is shut down until December, so those trying to fill the catcher role will not have to block all those wild pitches.

Sometimes a coach has to make tough decisions when dealing with entitled players for the good of the team as a whole. Maybe more should follow this lead.

Isn't a freshman a catcher?

Yes, Caccamise is

Apparently she can't hit very well, one of LSU's issues.

LSU's incoming freshman class really won't do very much this year, they aren't on Landry or Sahvannas level at all

Also Beth needs to stop recruiting Louisiana Players, they all suck, no one is elite.
The recruiting is now becoming atrocious for 2018, and 2019

She also needs to recruit more power hitters, LSU's lineup doesn't seem to have many

Louisiana normally has a number of good D1 players every year. If you're talking about elite as a freshman, that drops the number down but then again that's the same for most freshmen.

Recruiting in-state players is a lot easier than out-of-state when dealing with partial scholarships and preferred walk-ons.

Enough is enough! For someone who supposedly is a fan, you are an embarrassment and I have read all I can put up with.

Lol Grindz you are such a moron. I love how in one breath you say she needs more players as good as Landry, then in the next say there are no elite players from Louisiana. Landry is from Louisiana. And that's not even the main reason why you're a moron

Antoine is talented but I don't think she can compete in the SEC.

A lot of holes that need to be cleaned up for her to compete at this level

Landry is a rare exception, Beth ran off Nikki

LSU the way it runs its program is lol'd at all over the country

You must be talking to just a very small number of disgruntled people. In my area, the travel and high school coaches respect the LSU staff very much. Both Coach Torina and Coach Dobson spoke at my coaches clinic in Houston the past two years and their sessions were always full (475-500 coaches).

Average finish of 11.17 for each of Torina's six seasons.

Who has a better average finish in that span?

Gasso, 4.17***

Walton, 7.75**

Murphy, 6.83*

White, 7.50

Hutchins, 10.75

Yeah... a LOT of LOL'ng

PUHHHHLEASE

So you are saying that those 5 coaches are the ONLY ones better than Torina? If that's the case, then I'm honored to have her in that group -- 6th place isn't too shabby in that group at all. I wouldn't mind being in that group at all.

So what's the next argument?? Arguing with you is like arguing with a petulant child and my 94 year old mother with dementia makes more sense for you.

Done... please your case with the wall because that's about the only thing that's listening to you.

Yes

A regional final loss is a T17 among 16 teams, so a 24.5 value

A supers loss is a T9 among eight teams, so a 12.5 value

Weeklys weren't better than Torina and neither was Tarr from 2012-17

Riddle me this, what is wrong with the LSU offense. I thouht we had talented hitters?

Doyle was apparently elite but she looked bad and continued to trend backwards. Serrett looked bad compared to her freshman year. A lot of hitter showed zero improvements by the end of the season. Lack of power from hitters seemed to trend down as well. Quinn and Sanchez really aren't good hitters so that kind of makes it hard for LSU.

Do you actually expect major improvements this season from LSU's offense? Do you see a freshman who can make an immediate impact? LSU NEEDS a better offense. Its not mean, its reality. Pitchin will always carry LSU but why can't they develop an elite offense or more consistent one at that. I think its a fair question.

From what I see, there is a major divide across the country on Dobson's hitting approach. Its evident that it makes many players uncomfortable. I know a couple that played at LSU and they like Dobson but hate his hitting approac

Grindz this is exhausting. Regardless if you are right or wrong this is exhausting.
Why do you keep posting the same thing over and over again?
You have had plenty of people agree with you and plenty of people disagree with you.
As far as I know Coach Dobson and Coach Leftwich are not going anywhere this season and will be your LSU Tiger Assistants. Time will tell if you are a wise man or not.
I am positive you do not have Coach Torina's ear or you wouldn't resort to a message board to share your opinions of her faults.
If you are as wise as you feel you are Coach Torina's job will be open in the near future and you are more than welcome on taking your run at being the LSU Head Softball Coach.
Until then stop beating this dead horse.

Wouldn't matter, she listens to no one and none of her players, which is why her team is a carousel every year. Beth is a complete moron. Yes time will show how lucky at LSU she has been. Once hoover and Walljasper leave, it will all spiral downhill very quickly and it'll be exposed. I can assure you she is aware of it and is worrying. She knows she doesn't have a Jaquish comin anytime soon, nor another elite pitcher.

Don't see any response to me... Oh, that's right, you can't. Sixth-best program in the country during her six years.

In 2019, if a new reality reveals itself, it still will be painted against seven exceptional seasons to start her career

She has earned a whole hell of a lot of latitude.

I respect your right to an opinion. There is a big difference between an opinion and an educated opinion. I am curious about your credentials as a softball expert. Did you play? Do you coach or scout?

Calling Beth a "moron" is your MO.  You seriously need some psychiatric help.  I won't share with the board some of the absolutely psychotic things you have said on other message boards and actually done at the ballpark.

Other posters who read this thread....move along.  Nothing to see here except the irrational rants of a supposed "LSU fan" who obviously wants to see the program spiral downward and will do what he can to trash-talk it so that it gets there.

Nobody is laughing at LSU's softball program except for you...
