I disagree with these yahoos plenty, but it is heartening to see some group reward strength of competition as CSM did in giving their national PiOW award to Brittany Gray.

And, yeah, Vanessa Shippy, with an 11-for-13 along with a 2.203 OPS...  can't argue that one either

I like the selection of Vanessa Shippy as POW. The selection of Zoch as PiOW probably bolstered by her no-hitter against No. Colorado.

Didn't realize Shipley was on that kind of tear already... happy for her! Great player.

Oregon has a real gauntlet over the next 11 days with games against Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU, Texas A&M and Shippy and Oklahoma State. And, also Houston and Texas, who certainly aren't to be ignored.

Not sure how good Ole Miss is being no hit by Lipscomb, but yes, that's a tough stretch this year. I see the Japan national team is in there too. Pretty hardcore. Have you ever seen the Japan national team in person? They do batting practice like some kind of ballet or something. When they are done, people clap.

Yeah, very interested in what happens there.

You gonna be in Palm Springs?

Final thought: Kirstyn Thomas has evolved into a great player... I don't think I have ever seen a better hitter who had a combined 28 ABs her first two years

I saw them in Surrey in 2016, it was beautiful! I can't wait to see them play at Mary Nutter. I'm curious who coaches will throw against them.

I think Oklahoma has the best chance. They seem to struggle against the lefties.

Garcia is a beast. I love softball season!!

Unfortunately not. Coach Roberts' wife (and my sister-in-law) was my softball travelling buddy, and she'll be busy with the Bulls. I haven't sold my wife on the traveling around thing yet.

KT is an enigma. I imagine you know she came as a pitcher (66-68, flat, and illegal). She's athletic, and as strong as an ox but has had to work on being a disciplined hitter. We'll see how she goes as WA gets into the meat of the schedule.

Yeah, I saw the Japanese in Surrey and OKC. Pretty cool. I don't know how they determine if Ueno goes or not but she's pretty darn good as well.

I was wondering if they would send (or use ) Ueno. I've also been wondering if they'll show Abbott much before 2020.

If that is THE Japanese National Team, I would be shocked if a college team were to beat them.

Shippy is always a good choice.

Just to clarify for everyone...
The new impostor is 3lefturns (with just one "t" - and who has made a total of 6 posts).
The real 3LT is 3leftturns (with two "t"s) who has made 12,029 posts.

She's tall (5'11"), which can be good for a pitcher, but maybe not as good for a hitter. She's improved each year. She had a two-run HR off Kleist in the 7th to beat Oregon 3-1 in the WCWS. She had a walkoff HR to beat Stanford 1-0 last May.
