Remember this is if the season ended today, therefore Kentucky with a losing record is out because you have to be .500 or better to get in unless you're an automatic bid. Missouri is out as well because I am working on the fact that they are banned from participating in the NCAA tournament for 1 year. Automatic bids are in all caps.

Six B1G teams. That would be a surprise.

Right?

Agreed. I think all six would be solidly in after week 1 though. The American had a terrible first week. 4 bids last year but they didn’t have anybody that looked ncaa quality in week 1.

Half of the top 8 seeds are from the SEC.

Anyone who has followed softball after the last decade could have predicted that one.

Right?

Yes. Thank you. A quick question LCAOS: do you utilize the Massey softball rankings in compiling this bracketology (given I don't think the first set of RPI rankings will be released until the start of conference play, or maybe a little bit before then).

Yes. I use them until the rpi begins being released

Yes, I could tell, based on your last four in (which includes my Stanford Cardinal).

Massey rating of #44 is right on the bubble, which is where they sit right now.

Certainly. Since most years for the last decade about half of the teams that have advanced to Super Regionals and about 40% of the teams that have advanced to the WCWS have been from the SEC.
