Thursday May 9 - BIG EAST TOURNEY at USF Stadium, Tampa, Florida -  Top four seeds advanced today.  Georgetown, Seton Hall, Providence, and Syracuse were eliminated.   Tomorrow U South Florida faces a very hard hitting Louisville, and Notre Dame contends with DePaul.  The two winners face each other Saturday for the Big East tournament crown.

On a personal note, the head coach at Louisville is the team's hitting coach.  She should be loudly commended for the job she's done with this year's team.  Every single Cardinal looks good at the plate, and their hitting approach is very good.  Lots of balls get hit in the middle, and many leave the park.  If they had USF's pitching, I'd make them a contender to face Oklahoma in the WCWS.        Frank
