Ballou Junior High lol. Yea, I know, Team Seattle is heather's crew, home town kid gets to go to UW, blah blah blah. Don't care, that's still amusing any way you spin it.

Torraca is the surprise. She was on the Puerto Rico Olympic and National Teams. She was previously committed to UCF, until Alvelo and Flores got into her ear this summer, I'm guessing.

If they aren't in high school when they commit, I don't hide it. She's at Rogers HS now. To be fair, Junior High includes 9th grade - committing as a freshman is very common these days.

Alyssa Pinto, Maddi Banks, and Stormy Kotzelnik committed as middle schoolers. Pinto has since switched her commitment to Oregon. I'm not defending it, but it is how the recruiting game is being played. If the coaches come together, they could change it, but so far they haven't. The same with not considering someone a Prospective Student Athlete until they enroll in the 9th grade.

"committing as a freshman is very common these days". Oh really doctor, you think so?

Didn't ask for you to state the obvious. I can see her grad year. I just found Ballou Junior High to be amusing.

Why should I care what you ask me for? You've made no secret in the past of your animus for Tarr. Most successful coaches have their haters, although most are just trying to do their job and hardly deserve it (Clint, excepted).

Not sure where you saw any Tarr animus from me.  She's a great coach.  Her nepotism is cheesy. Her decision to create a travel ball team seems tacky. Her yoga pants are world-class.

NCAA rules (or lack of them) make 14U regional travel teams exempt from the 50-mile radius rule for college coaches. I doubt she, or her husband, is the only one doing it. Even if she is, that doesn't mean that her motives aren't exactly what she's said they are (to help young athletes). The NCAA only has to get rid of the nonsense about 14U's not being Prospective Student Athletes to stop it.

It isn't like mega-travel teams, at all ages, don't vacuum up players from all over the place (see the Beverly Bandits, which covers over a half-dozen states). Players want to be on competitive travel teams because they provide high-level playing opportunities and broad recruiting exposure. I'm only aware of two future Huskies who played for Team Seattle (Schulz and Barrett). Lots of others have committed to other schools.

Team Seattle current or future Huskies : Emma Helm Freshman, Morgan Allen Freshman, Megan Vandegrift Signed, Mackenzie Schultz Signed, Sami Reynolds Signed, Raigan Barrett Commit

Interesting that some of the top athletes to go through the Team Seattle program did not become Huskies : Maddie Morgan (Alabama) Shaye Bowden (Oregon) Kiki Milloy (Tennessee) all three could be impact players at respective schools
