And leading 4-0 in the 3rd. I'm watching NCAA basketball and this game at the same time. Gotta say the Bruins kinda look like they can't be bothered

When I heard Fernandez doesn't work with the pitchers, and then Kirk Walker said he works with them if they are willing to take the instruction, I was like W the F?  Talk about wasting talent at that school because Inouye-Perez can't be bothered to delegate where she is not the master, then they deserve their whole team not being bothered.

Viramontes and Garcia were both in the Corona Angels' organization, no?

Was she? I think she might have been. I just remember watching Miranda pitch a gem of a HS championship game, as did Garcia (but we all know that tragedy).

I thought Viramontes was behind Osorio, Garcia, and perhaps others in the pecking order

Halstead has a subtle Joe Morgan thing going on in her arms at bat

You're right. For at least one year. Can't fully remember though.

What's up with the chain link fence "look" of the UCLA softball stadium...Do something with that...

Well, just saw a ball through the wickets at 3B scored a hit.

So sick of couch-potato men sitting up there and treating these players like they are in 10U travel and drinking from a freaking sippy cup.

Over and over, these athletes are treated like babies instead of players in these scoring calls

Its LA dog.  If its not chain link and concrete; Its destroyed, gone, or a giant homeless enclave.

Could be a great series between Oregon and Utah next week in Utah.
Washington and Arizona should be great too.

Total CLUSTER.....
And when AD doesn't care.....and you play in the worst facility in the PAC....
Oh well....Papa Inouye can be proud of the program he has developed.

Isn't he on this board?  I heard he emails people or kind of stalks what they say here or something like that[smile]  The whole program has this really smug detachment...perhaps this is the "can't be bothered" mentioned here.  Lol...although Paige Halstead's mom is super nice!

Just a heads up, UCLA doesn't have the worst facilities from what I've seen. That distinction goes to Cal.

Cal's is a pretty view, at least

Three worst in the Pac:

1. Oregon State

2. Cal

3. UCLA

Not really..
Cal has a view.....and not so much traffic. A legitimate outfield distance.....close, but would much rather attend Cal's setting.
OSU at least "has a setting"?

Fair points. Cal's pastoral setting definitely counts for something

Cal hasn't gotten any worthwhile setting. The outfield opens into a parking lot. It's an church league field at best.

UCLA has a setting, called Bel Air. But seriously UCLA wins on Diddy Riese alone.

The facilities really aren't that bad. I hate the metal bleachers and the concessions are horrendous, but it ain't shoddy like Cal.

It was definitely trippy to see the Bel Air Estates gates like 200 yards or less from the field, and that Bellagio Dr so narrow!

I remember watching Kentucky go to UCLA like 2-3 years ago and thinking, what are they doing with this UCLA facility? Looks like a lot of metal plumbing pipe in the background...What are they playing in, a Water treatment facility???  And Kentucky then beat UCLA on the way to OKC..That was a fun 3 game series...

Oregon St. definitely isn't good but from a facilities only standpoint they might be better than Cal. However I will say I went there for the 1st time last year & they are the absolute strictest about every little thing, can't even bring a water bottle in "because it can be used as a weapon". Complete utter joke, oh & then they want you to buy $4 water from what's not even a concession stand.

People whose preference isnt ice cream are automatically disqualified.

What Bel Air you been to, because I drove right into it and bough lemonade from some kid whose bedroom is probably bigger than my entire house.

Seating/bleachers ... equal
Dugouts ... UCLA
View ... pick your preference but that's never been my desire while watching a softball game. I'm good with the row of trees and it's completely similar to Jack Turner stadium (ugas stadium) and everyone always praises their trees.
Concessions ... Cal????
Location ... UCLA
Field ... Cal
Entrance to the field ... UCLA

Take it how you want, and I agree that a school with that softball tradition should have better facilities. That being said, no one in their right mind can put Cal in front of UCLA.
