Mercer leading UGA in the top of the 1st inning, 4-0. They have really felt the losses of Gray and O'Neal...

Sorry, but a bad loss period.

Someone above said really bad loss for FSU to 70s RPI Pitt, but a loss by UCLA to RPI 101 is not a bad loss? Come on!

O’Neal is playing and just tied the game up with a homerun.

I meant with catcher, many people are stealing on morgan and she can't throw them out.

I noticed that too and was curious if that possibly puts Michigan back in the conversation for hosting.

If Hofstra wins out.... do they host?

Committee usually drops mid-majors 4-6 slots from their RPI, so doubtful

They could potentially have a high enough RPI if they win out, considering it's 22 as of today, and has been going up a spot or 2 every week. Not sure it would work logistically for Hofstra though, graduation is the same right weekend in the arena, literally right next to the softball stadium, plus Hofstra is also hosting the quarterfinals of the NCAA men's lacrosse tournament at Stuart Stadium that weekend as well.

I don’t think they got sent to Gainesville that year if you’re referring to the snooze fest of Galati versus Nevins in the supers. It was USF that came out of Gainesville after the Fagan debacle left Walton ousting his top three players and the left half of his defense the day before regionals, no?

I think it would be a good idea, in retrospect, to allow Hofstra to host. So many NE USA teams that have to travel long distances because they are winning conferences, it would allow for teams to travel less, but who knows?

despite the difference in the RPI I don't call this an upset. This is a huge rivalry and was played in Fullerton

Hofstra would most likely have to bump some SEC team, and that aint happening. And given your anology, the SEC teams are all close to each other which would favor them.

And Hofstra last at 22 RPI, not even the CAA title gets them a Host. They're not JMU of couple years ago by any stretch. That lone win against FSU is nice but...just nice.

Besides, Hofstra 1-4 against top 25RPI. I wouldn't order the temporary seating just yet.

I don't believe at all that it would happen, i'm just saying that if they did it would be good because less teams would have to travel long distances, I was looking at conference standing and there was at least 4-6 conferences with teams from northeast that look like they are going to win the conf.

He’s referring to 2015, post-Galati. Hofstra went into the conference tournament with an RPi in the low 20’s. They beat JMU twice (ranked team at that point, possibly even top 10) at their place and won the championship. They then ended up with an RPI of 12 and got sent to Gainesville when Florida was ranked #1. JMU ended up with an RPI of 13, and hosted a regional.

If I saw the scores correctly, Texas St. dropped a double header to Troy. Not sure of the exact rankings, but must be an upset.

Yay - Go Troy Trojans!  I was actually at the games and it really helped to be the home team.  Randi Rupp did not have any help from her defense.  She was unhittable when the umpire was calling the strike over in the other batters box, but when she had to bring it over the plate the Trojans made some contact and her defense couldn't make the plays.  Unfortunately, for the Sunbelt conference, when she is gone, I think Texas State will be back to a middle of the pack Sunbelt team.  As of today, Troy is RPI #97 and Texas State is #27.  It was two big wins for us and I hope we can go to the conference tournament knowing we can beat Texas State and Louisiana (we took a game off them when they were ranked #21 also).

Yes great wins for Troy.I still say Sunbelt is so down anyone can win the tournament. ULL has homefield advantage. So how will Troy fare against South Alabama after they lost the series to Costal.
Fans and alumni are getting restless. Both teams need some wins in a bad way. Give Troy credit tho!
