Is it really an upset though?!

EIU is 19-8 with a .288 team batting average compared to a 10-12 Longhorns squad with a team average of .242.

Just saying..

I believe it is. It's EIUs first win this season over a name brand.

Not really an upset. EIU played Louisiana very tough 2 games during first weekend of games, beat Iowa, are leading the OVC in many offensive categories, and have a couple of very good senior pitchers, one of which had 9 Ks in the Texas game.

Murray State beating Kansas at Lawrence 9-0 in 5 innings would be an upset, though

Lipscomb has a RPI in the mid 50's. That's not that bad of a loss. I'd say Boston College is their bad loss.

Offense is bad, not sure how it could be worse, and no real option on the mound outside of Lee.  Rumors out of Oxford is a couple players want out.

Isn't there usually a really high transfer rate with Mike Smith?

Memphis faced 4 Ole Miss pitchers, Lee being one of them. Memphis hit a grand slam off of Lee. Things don't look real good in Oxford.

Ole Miss finally remembered that they are Ole Miss....the program that had never won more than 30 games in their 20+ year history, had never been to any type of post-season, and had never scored a SINGLE RUN in the SEC Tournament til 2016.  I remember a broadcaster saying a couple years ago when LSU and Ole Miss were playing that LSU's worst season ever was better than Ole Miss' best season ever. Going into this season, Ole Miss' all time record was 524-681, or 157 games under .500.  They would have to go 20 games over .500 for the next 8 seasons just to get their all time record above .500.

The attrition that is associated with Mike Smith is starting to take its toll. The magic from last year has worn off.  Kaitlin Lee has regressed toward the norm.  I won't call it luck, but Ole Miss won a ton of games last year on walk-offs and errors by the other team.  The Monday night game vs. Alabama comes to mind.  Those things even out over time.  Ole Miss may not bottom out and go back to the days where they averaged 25 wins a season, but they aren't winning 43 games in a season again any time soon.

Yes.  Better to run from a tornado a few minutes too soon than a few minutes too late....

That may be true. It's also evident that Taylor McQuillen has vastly improved her game from last season when Mowatt wasn't coaching her.

You are confused. Many of us are ok with Ole Miss’s run to end.
