Certain male coaches are masters at mental abuse. This causes the athletes to have same symptoms as women with battered women's syndrome. They will actually defend the abuse saying it makes them a better person. I applaud the ULL administration for taking a stand against the abuse. I hope more follow. Our young women deserve coaches that stress positive reinforcement.

Blue, me thinks you blew this one. The players pulled off a successful Operation Valkyrie. Now that Lotief has been disposed, they are free of their oath of loyalty to him and the regime.

No softball coaches are left at UL............Does anyone wonder why?..........What did they do?

In order to allow the new coach to assemble their team, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has dismissed effective immediately softball assistant coach Chris Malveaux and video coordinator Kate Malveaux, according to a statement from the university.

Nothing is farther from the truth than that statement...........

With all due respect Blue... I too have a little inside knowledge on the recent history of this program.

Then quit dicking around and tell us the story.  Or STFU and go away.

Howzy Wowzy, you're just going to have to wait until the album drops. Try not to pee yourself before then.

Terpie, stick to something you know about, if indeed there is anything.

Headed to the kitchen for a refill. Seems you and I agree on something. I have always had the greatest admiration for Lotief. Coached with Ga State one year and ULL was a class act team to play. All the players that didn't dress traveled with the team and sat behind the dugout during the conference tournament. Heard nothing but good things about him.

What an educated post. When you can’t defend position like an adult, result to the antics of a rude teenager.

Any thoughts on who the new coach might be?

Howzat, Rudy gives you good advice............

Terp, you're correct........This battered-syndrome stuff is a result of our weak society these days..........This will ruin softball if it's allowed to continue......Need to squash it.........

This story will unfold in due-time...........The softball players are put out in the cold by the UL administration..........

Man, imagine what ULL's AD could do @ Auburn? Would've carpet bombed that place in under 2 weeks.

It’s an interesting job for sure. Not the biggest school with lots of funds, but surely a lot of history and talent to work with in this program.

The players were sitting with Lotief at the press conference this afternoon............Again, the truth...........

Coercement by the UL administration to falsely project their story has been alleged..........

I have zero patience with know-it-all posters who profess or imply inside knowledge and instead of committing themselves by revealing it, instead waste our time with innuendo.  Reminds me of the annual New Years parade of astrologers who trot out upcoming year's predictions, then disappear when none of them prove true.  But at least they tell us what they're predicting.

Put up or STFU.

Oh, yeah, and let's batter women 'till they behave properly.  That'll toughen 'em up, Mr. Looney-Tunes "Weak Society."

What a pretentious dickhead.

If he's gone for good no way I'd want to be the next coach. No win situation. If he's gone for good, this won't be an attractive job till the replacement coach gets chewed up and spit out. Then the NEXT coach may have a shot.

I think that depends on the hire.

Any coach better look at the UL administration and what they did to the coaches and players..........Especially, if this unravels on them...........And, if it's pushed to a lawsuit, it will unravel on them..........

And if there's any Lotief loyalists who potentially abandon/sabotage the program. Lord, help them if the hire is an outsider with no ULL or SW LA connection.

Smiley, with all that's going down, I did get a laugh from your comment...........

But, the UL softball program already got sabotaged today by the administration.................

I'm serious though. It's a fairly booster reliant program and if some side with Mike and walk away that could be disastrous.

I know you're serious, Smiley..........And, rightfully so..........You're perceptive and see it..........

Honestly, I think everyone's siding with Michael........

Again, I've stated that there's allegations that the administration deliberately destroyed the softball program..........Also, allegations that there's coercion by the administration in getting a coupla folks to say things they didn't mean...........

Now, these are serious allegations and they have already been put out there in public...........There are lawyers involved and if this gets pushed, its, all, gonna come out............

No way this ends well for UL (just for you, since I know it’s a tough time). Not many will survive that program as a coach and not many would stay around if they do have success.

Not the biggest fan of Lotief, but he is/was that program and all of its success.
