Meanwhile a player was just rushed to the hospital and you are worried about last in the SEC?

Conference play this year is going to be...something.

And Sumerlin had ALL day for that throw. Slow down and make the plays.

Considering what they all are dealing with right now, can you blame them? Christ.

Is this a reference to the medical situation from earlier? Wasn't sure if we had anything official on that yet--I'm still hoping it's a precautionary measure that turns out to be for something minor.

I was just making a simple statement, not complaining. But god bless this team seriously!

Yes, it was a reference to the medical emergency. And while I will not speculate, the factor still remains that these girls saw a teammate have a medical emergency and whether it's severe or something small that messes with the psyche of a person. It's not an excuse as we were falling apart before the incident, but at the same time I don't think now is the time to point the finger and show frustration. We've all (UGA fans and fans in general) had moments where we've shown frustration and got mad, but now is not the time to berate the team. Pray for our player, pray for her teammates, and pray for her family. Life is bigger than softball and this is just one more reminder.

Yeah, fair point. Should have remembered what was going on before posting.

In absence of solid defense and pitching reliability, and now with a medical emergency, an injury to Cortni (hopefully nothing serious), and all kinds of other questions surrounding the lack of using Ablan...

this team is trending even more downward than originally thought. I don't think they will finish last in the SEC, but they'll certainly not keep up with some of the more experienced teams in the conference.

While it hurts to lose three games in a row after previously being undefeated, it's simply a wake-up call that this team has a LOOOOONG ways to go. Their youth is showing, but hey, time heals all wounds. Pain is just part of the process. Pitching and defense will get better, as will the offense, and I still feel this team could surprise a lot of people by the end of the year.

People can say what they want about LHC, but she did the right thing going with her player.

Absolutely.

Feel bad for this team having to turn around and go out for another game right now.

honestly, with the way ole miss and Arkansas are getting better, I could see them at 11th or 12th in conference.

Ummm... how well was Avant doing regarding free passes? Why bring in Gray when she has a no hitter?

Baffling. Absolutely baffling.

Maybe it's because Gray grew up with a lot of the kids on the NW team? Who knows, honestly?!

I am coming under the belief that they're trying to lose. If a pitch walks batters or throws fatties, don't pitch them! Bottom line

Arkansas just lost to FAU. You still have a crap ton of hitting. Coaches just need to figure out the pitching.

Last in sec will be Arky and MSU.

Not sure if anyone realizes it, but Georgia has given up 15+ unearned runs over their first three games at the MNC. That's a stat you don't see every day...

Even if pitching was better than it has been, that still wouldn't matter as much because the errors have been the true detriment to the Bulldogs. You're looking at a victory over UCLA and Notre Dame - without a doubt - if the errors aren't there. That, in and of itself, gives me at least a semblance of hope. Combine that with the young offense and speed (both of which seem to be pretty consistent), and this team will be fine.

TLC. Defensive Reps. And Repeat.

Not only the errors but the simple fielding that isn't being made to shorten innings. CFer missed catching a ball vs ND that should've been caught and it ended up allowing runs to score. Might've been ruled unearned but still that ball should've been caught.

It is my understanding that LHC had food poisoning today, was she even at the games? I spoke with CE at the hotel before their first game this afternoon and I'm pretty sure LHC wasn't going to be there, but that could have changed.

Whether she was or wasn't... This has been the night from hell on so many different levels. I had something longer typed up and wound up deleting it, so instead I'll say this:

No matter who you are, where you are, the background you come from, or the team(s) you support... Tonight, I want everyone to hug your loved ones. Whether that be your parents, a significant other, even a dog... Take someone into your arms and tell them that you love them. I am happy to see the team finally get a win and yet I have not stopped worrying or praying for the families of the UGA team from the moment we heard the news of their being a medical emergency. It's really easy to forget that, as we sit here watching these games and falling in love with this player's technique, or that player's personality, that they're still just young women working through life when they take their jerseys off. We get mad and we pitch fits about what we think should happen or what we want to happen, and we forget that these girls are just playing a game. What it all comes down to is this is a game (a fun one), and it's meant to be enjoyed. I can't tell you the concern or the hurt that I immediately felt when I heard of the emergency and I don't have a kid, so I can only imagine what some of you parents are out there thinking right now. These incidents... They're real, they happen, and tonight is the first in my recent memory that it's happened to Georgia and I think it shook a lot of people to their core, for better or for worse. I've made my criticisms against players and work ethic, but tonight I sit back humbled, reminded that at the end of each game that that is all it ever was, a game... I love my Dawgs and I am proud of them regardless.

I am proud of them if they win or lose, but tonight I'm praying a little extra something for this girl and her family. I wish her nothing but the best from here on out and I hope to hear good news by the morning that all is well. Go Dawgs.

Until UGA addresses the matter (and that's if they do) I'd rather not go into detail.

We are all a family of fans here on this forum. Be nice if you could at least share some minor details about what's going on.
