Any guesses on the starting lineup for next year's team? With spots to fill at center, second, first---also, who will take over as our ace? Has anyone heard anything on our freshman? Thanks in advance!

My guess is Bryan comes in and gets centerfield. Kid was on sportscenter in the PGF All-Star game for a phenomenal catch, but, with college being different... There's really no telling. That said, I could also see S. Emanuel there.

Ablan and Avant, depending on how they translate to college game, could challenge Gray for the 'ace' position. They compliment each other well (one is east/west, the other is more north/south). Not sure that'll mean anything, but, maybe.

I have heard good things about Ablan out of camp, but you just never know until these kids are in between the chalk in their first college game...

I'm hoping at least one of them is able to come in and toss some good innings. Ablan is the most likely, but, Avant has had her moments as well. I'm excited to see what happens.

I think it's a little early to make any projections seeing that yesterday was the start of the 3rd week of individual's.

The first week they didn't even throw with Fico...

Can Bass be more than a closer?  She's a feisty little pitcher, so it'll be interesting to see her pitch.  To me she is very reminiscent (in her presence) to Silkwood at MSU (without the noise).

Not sure Ablan will be able to carry UGA to an SEC Championship as a freshman, but I expect great things from her during her time at UGA.

Does anyone know UGA's fall schedule? They published it last year and I was able to go to a few games.

UGA maintaining its name as one of the only schools you have to pull teeth to get a damn fall schedule.

Twitter says Georgia beat Gulf Coast 9-3, but no details on either team's site. Don't they play again today?

Anyone see the UGA and FSU combined mannequin challenge at their fall ball game? It was pretty cool

More like 15-5.

FSU scored 11 in the ninth, which is unfortunate, but not a death sentence.

Well technically if we went by the standard 7 innings, Georgia won that game 4-3

Yeah, that was my thinking. Not a bad result, but plenty to work on moving forward.

Georgia has picked up a transfer in IF/OF Kendall Burton who played high school ball with the Emanuel sisters. Burton originally transferred from UTSA to Oklahoma State but OSU didn't medically clear her to play so now she will be with UGA. I'm not sure if she will be sitting out for a season or what exactly is happening since this is a big change of events for her but per twitter she will be joining the program

Just out of curiosity, if OSU would not medically clear her to play, how can UGA do it?  Any idea what her injury was?

I know she suffered a stroke two years ago while at UTSA and as far as I know that is the only medical problem she has faced. I'm not really sure how the whole medical clearing thing works but maybe it's just under the discretion of the program?

As far as her ability as a softball player- she mainly played center field for UTSA and started every game for them in the past two seasons. She bats lefty and can slap or hit for power, leading UTSA in triples for the past two seasons. I'm sure she won't play until the 2018 season as she is finishing this semester at Ok St. She could be a valuable replacement for Sydni Emanuel in the outfield, playing alongside former high school teammate Cortni.

I remember a few years ago there was a football player by the name of Jarvis Jones. He played high school ball and ended up heading to USC for college ball. He had a neck injury and was medically disqualified by USC. He transferred to UGA and was cleared to play and ended up in the NFL. Where he is still playing. Schools may have different sets of guidelines they follow.

It really is a remarkable story. Kendall is a fantastic young lady and will definitely be a fan favorite in Athens. It'll be a smooth transition for her since she'll have some familiar faces around. I haven't found an official release regarding her joining the program but I'm sure UGA will wait until she's actually enrolled at the university.

As far as her playing next spring, I guess it really all depends on transfer eligibility. I don't know if she was supposed to sit out a year at Ok. St or not. But I doubt she comes in ready to play having not been in much fall training or having any experience with the team.

From all I have seen if you transfer out of conference you are eligible immediately. Gracie Goulder transferred from UGA to UCLA and didn't sit out. Neither did the oldest Emmanuel sister.
