season is getting closer. Lineup projections? Which pitchers, If any, turn out to be pleasant surprises. I think that anyone who pitches before conference play will have good stats because we play no one per usual.

Any word on how the team's looking? Who'll take over the outfield positions with the graduation of Cortni and Kendall? How's the bullpen looking? I really hope to Ablan and Mathis pick up some innings and will be really good behind Avant! I'm excited for this season!

I think we should have a pretty fast outfield, same as last year. Landrum, Bryan, and Switzer are my guesses.

Also saw today where Madison Kerpics (formerly committed to Louisville) has committed to UGA over Georgia Tech and Michigan. Named UGA as her dream school.

Febrey is working in Right Field, Milz is at first, left field could be Landrum.

So... My question is, is it Sikes seeing reps at 2B or Fincher?

Both of those Frosh will see time if it’s Fincher at 3rd , SS or Dh and Sikes at 2nd...But JD will be out there she is a emotional spark plug for that team.

I agree with her being a spark plug, but the bat has to get a bit better to warrant her being out there over either Sikes or Fincher. That or either of those girls playing poor defense, which imo we really can’t handle at 3B.

The 2019 schedule has to be one of the weakest ones I have seen in a long time...

While teams like UCLA, Oklahoma, Florida, etc. are playing extremely tough slates over the opening month of the season (in many instances against one another), our toughest competition over the first 30 games is Indiana, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech. I would much rather us be 23-7 or 24-6 halfway through the season after playing the best of the best versus 30-0 with eye-popping stats and no experience playing in games that ultimately make us better.

Cupcake schedule or not, I think the offense is going to be solid this year and I've only heard great things about the freshmen. Per usual, the big question mark lies in the circle. Avant improved a lot in her sophomore year and helped carry the team to OKC in rather surprising fashion last season. If Ablan and/or Mathis have improved and can play to their full potential, I like our odds of really surprising some people again this year.

In my opinion, it's going to be really, really hard for anyone to keep up with the likes of UCLA, Oklahoma, Washington and Florida this year, but I'm optimistic we have what it takes to win some key games and make a run for it. Looking forward to seeing the rookies in action, as well as the rest of the team, in just a few days!

Yup Georgia's schedule is very weak this year. Winning in conference play will be absolutely critical

I think when they play FAU the games are live streamed. Only FAU games though. I saw this someone can't remember. Other than that, stats come in handy.

I love how they are using all of the pitchers on the staff so far. Unlike how in previous seasons we rode one ACE. Anyone know why Switzer isn’t even dressing out for the games?

I'm a Dawg fan and I realize this is a young team, but in preseason they s/be playing at least a few ranked teams that give them some competition.  I'm not intending to put down the teams they have played but they lost to Indiana(not ranked) and the SEC schedule will be tough .  Preseason lets u play everyone but u also need to find your weakness and strengths and this years 2019 preseason is very weak.  I know they are ranked 8-9 with 1-loss to Indiana (not ranked) I think ranking is to high based off teams played so far. Most of the top 25 teams have played at least a few ranked teams - Georgia basically playing nothing but cupcake/build stat teams, stats look good but what happens when league play starts.... see what u need to fix and what works.  I'm hoping u do great, but worried about SEC schedule.
GO DAWGS

thanks for pointing wrong school ... corrected to Indiana not Illinois at least they start with and "I"

Just a heads up. Based on the poll I saw today, Illinois is ranked #25.

I might’ve had other motives in pointing out the Illinois ranking. Granted wish they weren’t there because it’d be better for me.

I wish Lu would schedule a better OOC slate. Georgia is too good of a program to play this type of competition all OOC.

It definitely will be interesting to see how Lu handles the pitchers once conference play starts. Right now she has the luxury of spreading out the innings against weak competition but nobody has really been tested yet. She’s going to have to find a workhorse at some point.
