87 degrees today, 93 tomorrow, 90 Saturday.

I decided to go with your "heat will get Minnie" analysis, because after looking at stats for the season for Sara G, Lindaman, Houlihan, Dwyer, et al -- I had to grasp for something.  [smile]

I'm thinking Bama might pitch M. Moore in the first game vs Albany tomorrow. They are #190 in the RPI. Check out their team sheet below. They played only 3 games vs top 100 teams and gave up 14 and 15 runs in 2 of those games. Gave up a bunch of runs to most teams period.

Considering their Team Sheet and pitching stats shown below against a very weak set of opponents, I would save Osorio and Littlejohn for the effort to beat Minnesota twice in 2 days (and La Tech if we lose the 1st one) to win the regional.

(All games Sorted by Earned run avg)

It's not comfortable out there for sure.

Anyone know why the Minnesota game is not being shown live - other than game tracker ?  I have it supposed to be on ESPNU - and I see the Cal game, then I go online, and I see the game is supposed to be shown, - it flips over to the Cal - ND game.

I think Marshall-Illinois has caused a traffic jam

Ugh.  Can't watch until either Marshall or Illinois figures out how to score, and GameTracker is glitchy at the moment.

The Gophers' 4-6 hitters have done a really good job cleaning up as the rule with Lindaman has increasingly become the old Jim Palmer adage that there's always an open base.

LA Tech now on to their third pitcher of the 2nd inning.

Minnesota just went all Terminator on La Tech in the 2nd inning. Annihilation and carnage everywhere. Maybe they're taking out all their rage at the Committee in this game. Or maybe they're real good, or both.

Sara G only had to pitch 2 innings. I'm hoping neither Osorio or Littlejohn pitches any.

Getting thrown out at home when you're down 9 runs in the 5th isn't especially smart baserunning.

Why wasn't that Tech runner coming home anyway? The Gopher  2B was clearly going to 1st with or without the bobble.

They were down 8.... that was to extend the game

OK that was the runner who was originally on 2nd. ESPN never updated the score to 11-3 so I thought the runner on 3rd just stood there until the bobble.

One could argue that at that point, anything that gets the game overwith and saves your pitchers 2 innings is a good thing.

True. But not being run-ruled after being down 10 in the 5th would be a nice coachable foothold for him to use headed into tomorrow

True. Would probably just have delayed it a half inning. They got mauled. Scored 1st run after Minnie brought in #2 pitcher, scored other 2 runs on #3 pitcher.

I was not able to watch the game.  For those that watched, how did Fiser and Finucane look?  I understand they gave up some runs, but acording to the box score there were a couple of errors.

Fiser looked good, Finucane looked ok. Runs would not have scored without the errors (well and a walk by Finucane).

Sara G's 2 innings were a walk in the park for her, and your hitters looked well ... scary from the perspective of a Bama fan.
