Tucson regional has more competition than some might think. All four teams have some good wins. Arizona, South Carolina, and St. Francis (to my surprise) each have a handful or more quality wins.

South Carolina - wins @ Texas, vs. Indiana, @ Tennessee, @ Alabama, @ Mississippi State, @ Florida State, vs. Auburn, @ Georgia, vs. LSU.

St. Francis - wins vs. Fordham, vs. Tulsa, @ Texas Tech.

New Mexico State - wins vs. Grand Canyon, vs. Florida Atlantic. NMSU has played but lost to some very good teams this season (not many blow outs), including Oregon State, Tennessee, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma State, SDSU, Nebraska, Arizona State, Arizona, Grand Canyon.

Good luck to all. Weather expected to be sunny and mostly clear with highs of 83, 90, and 97 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively.

There are built in advantages to having a very high rpi obviously...the road to glory when it counts goes easier to harder in most cases.

Do you really see a team with 23 losses taking the Tucson Regional?

Many of those are SEC loses so they only count as half a loss. [wink]

South Carolina obviously has some tools. The bracket is set, and each team's record is 0-0. I've seen the Wildcats struggle for a while against lesser teams this season.

So weird that Wildcat Hughes made it to the NFCA West Region 2nd team and Mulipola did not make any team.

I predict Tooley, Mauga and Harper will make 1st team aa, with Mercado taking 3rd team.  No outfield aa.

6 Cats on the 1st team with 2 on the 2nd. Mulipola should have been named.

St. Francis will surprise one of these teams.  May even beat SC.  It is a highly underrated team.

Yeah I think we only beat them 6-4 last season in March.

Finally, Az is working on phase 2 stadium update with no pole netting and new press box with shade structure and a couple of suites.

5 million.

Good for them (and good for us as viewers).   That netting sure makes it tough to watch at times.   Hopefully all this popularity and TV rights money will continue to make the facilities for student athletes and fans much improved across the country.

Man, bad news, Alyssa Palomino tore her other acl in practice a few days ago and is out for the rest of the season.  Her left one this time.  Good news is Mandi Perez stepped up last night with the long ball!

They were saying day to day the last couple days but I had seen her in pics with a full leg brace and crutches...then JJ told me late last night no go, then I read the article this morning.  Booo!!!

Gotta get her to first base. I am so sad for her.

She needs to call Alex Powers
