Since articles of impeachment have been introduced, we should probably dedicate a thread to it.

Dems claiming we are in a constitutional crisis.

Will dems keep their campaign promises to impeach Trump now that they have the power to do so?

Pelosi doesn't seem to want to do it, just for it to die in the Senate, at least until after 2020.

Doubt it goes anywhere.

There will be no impeachment.  Trump has 84% of Republican support on the Shutdown.  That is huge.  64% strongly approve.  That is from a HuffPost/Yougov poll :  https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/10-things-to-know-about-the-government-shutdown

Even the Washington Post argues that "Trump won't lose in a long shutdown"

"Trump isn’t likely to suffer politically because he’s not doing anything his supporters find objectionable. A Quinnipiac poll last month found that 43 percent of Americans, including 86 percent of Republicans and 45 percent of independents, support building the wall. Support for the wall is so high among Trump supporters that even Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said this week that he supports it while blasting the president’s character in a Post op-ed. When your most prominent internal critic supports your position, you know you’re dealing from strength"

"Americans generally want both sides to cut deals in the national interest, and that’s likely to be as true in this case as in others. "

"Trump backers are likely to believe his argument that Democrats' intransigence shows they don’t care about the border. "

"
So for Trump, a continued shutdown is a political win no matter what the outcome. Expect the shutdown to go on for quite a while until House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) grow tired of the battle and move to shift the political war to a new battlefield. "

Shutdown doesn't really have anything to do with the dems impeaching Trump in the house.

Some Democrats want to pursue impeachment just as some Republicans want to legalize most the illegal immigrants living here. Neither will happen until “some” changes to “most”.

The dems, who ran on impeaching Trump, don't need a single republican vote to do so.  Let's see if they will.

Popular support does.  The MSM is hammering Trump nonstop.  Yet he remains immensely popular.  With his base, which was enough to get him elected.  With the broader republican party, where he is in the 90%.

Trump also enjoys broad support from classic past democrat constituents in labor unions and hard working blacks.

They may take that vote in the house to impeach him, but they will definitely regret it.  They will also likely fully solidify his reelection.

The pols in DC are pretty out of touch with the American people. Trumps ability to find a popular item like border security, grab the mantle, define the debate and take it to the dems is super important part of why he will not be impeached.

Name the Democrats who ran on impeachment. Was it some or most?

They won't.  While I think the current Democrat party is pretty stupid overall, they don't appear to be as stupid as the Republican party that impeached Clinton.

The Republican party that impeached Clinton had a somewhat legit reason.  Where they failed was in addressing the political nature of impeaching a popular President.

I don't think they will either.  Just like they weren't going to vote for Nancy Pelosi for speaker.

Ok, you not voting for Pelosi, who are you voting for?  Ding dongs did not think that through.  Pelosi knew this.  Knew she only had to take out anyones name that got mention enough and she would lop in by default.

Republican and Democrat Presidential primaries had settled into that same political pattern for many many years, decades even.   While I like Bush, even he followed this formula.  Same for Romney and McCain.

Obama beat through that strategy handily.  He had just enough charisma and organization coupled with the star power of bing the 'first black president' to break the formula down.

Reagan beat through that strategy as well.  Using his charm and TV personality to his benefit to go around the standard blocking politics.

Trump definitely beat through that strategy.  He refused to even acknowledge the other candidates were even in the game.  Jeb tried hard to play this strategy and was just not able to get anywhere.

The problem with applying that political strategy to impeachment is that voting for impeachment has major ramifications for those that vote for it.   Not your NY dems or LA dems, or SF dems.  But to those dems from TX, MO, IN, WI, OH, FL, VI, WV and MI.  Where they have a load working class constituents.   You want them to support any impeachment votes you had better address this presidents popularity.

Can’t wait for all the snowflakes heads to explode if they ever go through with impeachment and they realize that doesn’t mean he gets removed from office.

You are delirious. Where do you come up with trump being popular outside the loony tune base? Most Americans see the government shutdown as trump's fault. If there was enormous republican support for trump's ridiculous concrete wall scenario, they would have passed legislation supporting it when they controlled both houses. Now that the dems run the house.....no chance. trump will fail here and further erode the more reasonable upper fringe of his original base. I do not want him impeached. I want him soundly drummed from office in 2020, dragging his pathetically weak, co-conspirator republican cronies with him.

2019 going to be fun.

My montra now is "DO IT!"  I want all of this to come out and in front of the American People.  I want the dossier to be discussed in the open.  I want Mueller's actions discussed in the open.  I want the Democratic Party and Hillary's actions brought out in public. Per that dossier and the money she paid, they colluded with the Russians.   DO IT!

There will be no impeachment unless enough Republicans agree to remove President Trump.  At that point, cheers of "do it" will disappear and will be replaced by angry Rightists.  I don't see Republicans ever signing on but, who knows, maybe Donald Trump paid the hackers to illegally invade the DNC.

As for Hillary, you don't have to have an impeachment.  Have the AG appoint a special counsel to investigate her.  I'll tell you why they haven't.  Because there is no there there.

You could ditch the rocklifter and come back as a troll like fresh, kazoo, WIW, huey, rudy martinez and bonespurs666 have done.  It works for libtards, it'll work for both sides.

2024 is not to far out.

Can't believe it is the Trump Impeachment thread that activated your almonds enough to push a reply.

This is going to be a great thread.  I knew it when I seen it come up.  Nothing but REEEs, cursing and salt.   Allday everyday.

Start with this one lefties.  Why should we care?  Trump is merely doing as we have asked him to do.

Oh please, Oh please, let this be the level of debate through election day 2020.

There are actually some republicans that think the Dems have something Republicans should fear.  I just don't see how those Republicans cannot read a thread like this and realize Trump conservative will be the rule for a long time.

Dems haven’t had respect for the office since they defended the sexual predator for the rim job he got from an intern.
