President Trump's first four visits to his Mar-a-Lago resort after Inauguration Day cost American taxpayers $13.6 million, according to a report released by the US Government Accountability Office

So nearly $14 million for his first four trips to Mar-a-Lago. I'll effort to find how much taxpayer money Trump has spent in total visiting his own properties--which is corruption, fyi. It is a huge number because he's made well over 100 trips to his various golf clubs and spent about 20 percent of his total time as prez playing golf.

He is flagrantly showing favoritism for using his properties for financial gain. Most decent people in a similar position would avoid even the slightest hint they were abusing the office. trump waves it in our faces and the blind base supports him. Shameful.

Ding Ding.

Most of the monies spent is for Air Force One, and Secret Service work.  The round of golf at Mara Lago was likely paid for by Trump.  He stays there for free.

His trips always host important dignitaries.  Often these are people that will be on the other side of the negotiation table.  China's President Xi for example.   It is important to develop a great relationship with those you need to come to agreement.

Last weekend he golfed with Tiger and confirmed Tigers own comeback.  That weekend he golfed with Tiger and Jack Nicklaus and Nicklaus's son Steve.  Sounds like it was a very competitive game and Tiger pulled it out for his team at the end.  Obama would never play with anyone good.  His game was garbage.  He liked playing with his friend that was a hack.

This was a part of Mar-a-Largo's patriot day, where they raise money and show support for veterans.

Mar-a-Largo has also been a great source of Ambassadors for the Trump administration.   Surely that is better than the America Haters club where Obama sourced his ambassadors from.

Much to your chagrin, I'm not distracted or puzzled by it, but dismayed that our president is a criminal. Five minutes out of my day leaves quite a bit of time to mull over his other 100 personality flaws. We don't get distracted, but mention the obvious miscarriages of justice from this president in hopes the base will be forced to see their errors. Unfortunately, they would rather stick their heads in the sand and wail about Obama and Hillary. Things that can't be proven or add anything to the discussion. Keep it up, you get 2 more years to crow and the country, realizing just any change is not always better than amending the status quo, will vote this oaf out of office. He'll get his pardon and live out his life a proven liar and criminal. The worst president in history.

President Trump has labeled himself the greatest businessman, the greatest negotiator, and now the greatest President. Apparently he was born a titleist.

Trump’s Inaugural Grift Reportedly Lined His Own Pockets

Donald Trump and various entities he has controlled have been subject to a wide array of criminal investigations, some of them quite intricate and complex. That complexity has obscured what is quickly becoming a clear and simple conclusion: Trump used his inauguration to illegally line his own pockets.

The inauguration is under federal investigation, and the story has emerged in dribs and drabs. But enough pieces have come together that we know where the story is going. Let’s quickly review.

Last March, WNYC took note of the vast sums spent on Trump’s inauguration, which cost twice as much as the previously most expensive inaugural event, yet could not easily account for where all the extra money had gone. In December, the Wall Street Journal broke the news that federal investigators were looking into the inauguration.

At this point, the story appeared to revolve primarily around Trump cronies using the inauguration for enrichment or political influence. “Many of the president’s biggest campaign backers were involved in the inaugural fund,” the Journal noted. The probe also looked into whether the inaugural fund had accepted foreign money, which is prohibited.

But WNYC found in December that one possible source of overpayments included fees to Donald Trump’s Washington hotel. Emails by WNYC found the Trump Hotel manager proposing to charge the inauguration $175,000 a day for use of its ballroom and conference rooms, a rate the manager of the inauguration objected to as exorbitant.

Monday night, ABC News reported that investigators subpoenaed documents from the inauguration committee. Today ProPublica adds another key detail, confirming that the inauguration did pay the exorbitant $175,000 fee to the Trump Hotel. And it quotes tax law experts describing this as an obvious crime. “It could be a tax law violation,” Brett Kappel, an attorney at Akerman LLP who advises nonprofits, tells ProPublica.

Of course, fees to Trump’s hotel go straight into the pockets of Donald Trump and his family. So these apparent tax law violations — which amount to embezzling funds from the inaugural committee through self-dealing — were carried out for their personal benefit.

Another thing we know about Trump is that he takes a very close interest in his own money, and nothing infuriates him more than the idea that somebody is making money off of him. Chris Hayes told one story of Trump attempting to wring a commission out of a Tower Records store located in one of his buildings:

@chrislhayes

Back in the 1990s, Tower Records had a store in Trump Tower, and in those stores were "listening stations," where you could listen to a bunch of new CDs. The store would also add local indie bands' CDs to listening station rotation if they paid $100.

[MSNBC_Headshot_normal]
Chris Hayes

@chrislhayes

Somehow Trump gets wind of this, and someone from Trump Tower tells their contact at Tower Records that Trump *wants a cut of the $100* from each local band paying to be in the listening station! Donald Trump! The guy with his name on the building wants in on the $100!

A more chronologically relevant account comes from Michael Lewis, who has reported about Trump’s lack of interest in planning for his presidential transition during the campaign. Trump could not let go of the idea that the money for the transition was somehow coming at his personal expense:

The first time Trump paid attention to any of this was when he read about it in the newspaper. The story revealed that Trump’s very own transition team had raised several million dollars to pay the staff. The moment he saw it, Trump called Steve Bannon, the chief executive of his campaign, from his office on the 26th floor of Trump Tower, and told him to come immediately to his residence, many floors above. Bannon stepped off the elevator to find Christie seated on a sofa, being hollered at. Trump was apoplectic, yelling: You’re stealing my money! You’re stealing my f--king money! What the f--k is this?

Seeing Bannon, Trump turned on him and screamed: Why are you letting him steal my f--king money? Bannon and Christie together set out to explain to Trump federal law. Months before the election, the law said, the nominees of the two major parties were expected to prepare to take control of the government. The government supplied them with office space in downtown DC, along with computers and rubbish bins and so on, but the campaigns paid their people. To which Trump replied: F--k the law. I don’t give a f--k about the law. I want my f--king money.

Did Donald Trump personally direct the apparently illegal scheme to divert inaugural funds to enrich the Trump Organization? That remains to be proven, but the odds would seem to be fairly high that he did.

ENDS--

Why do good people support a corrupt, bad man?

Now do Congress and the Senate
I don’t care about taxes of a Billionaire who became POTUS.

Show me the taxes of politicians who became millionaires while in office.

That you only care about the President's shows what your true motives are.

1 - All elected officials release their taxes
2 - Make public the taxpayer funded payments to settle sexual harassment

Unlike you, these are not politically motivated.

@realDonaldTrump:  "The Democrats are so self righteous and ANGRY! Loosen up and have some fun. The Country is doing well!"

Sage advise.  Many around here could use that advise wisely.

We’re pretty good. Democrats won the House. #CheckThePresidency. Obamacare still the law of the land. Mueller going to give a report that will show all the wrongdoing by this Administration. Crooks around this WH going to jail left and right. Trump whining about Democrats, MSM, and investigations. Maybe the loosen up advice should go to him.

A lot of disgruntled taxpayers finding out they get nothing back this year. Finagled tax charts gave a little more money in the checks, but nothing at filing time. The big tax cut charade coming apart. The curtain slowly opening on the wizard of orange.

2/3 of America will see great tax savings.  Mine was like 3.5K, which is on the upper end.  My brother is paying $1K less.

Everyone I know is reporting that they are saving money.

More false reporting.  The story being reported is that taxpayers are seeing smaller refunds.  An idiotic analysis if there ever was one.  What matters is the effective tax rates being paid which, for most (except those of us in the sh1tholes of CA or NY) are going down.

I don’t think average Americans saved that much. The wealthy cleaned up.

One chart showed family with $75,000 income saves $17/week.

I've made over a half million in each of the last two years and I can promise you that I have seen zero benefit from the new tax plan.  I'm still paying additional amounts thanks to Obama.

Obamacare added .9% Medicare surtax, or about $2500 on a half million. He’s exaggerating as usual.

Idiot liberal savings plan. Give the government a bunch of money all year, earn zero interest on the money, celebrate when they give you some of your own money back

All the poor minimum wage earners have to keep them going. I'm not going to pass judgement on someone that tries to find a way to have a few dollars to spend for a few weeks every year. You sound kind of elitist.
