Losing Sanders has to be about the biggest loss that the new coach could have had happen. I'm sure he is very disappointed to have her go.

3LT - Who had been penciled in as the Ducks' shortstop before this happened? I'm sure that player is a bit unhappy about this new development.

I'm guessing you just might have a huge smile on your face - since hearing this news. She would be a big addition to any team.

Heck... she should have gone to Oklahoma.  They could use a little more offense out of the SS position.

I would have loved hearing everyone's thoughts - if that had happened...

; )

No way a mid major player steps in at Oregon and starts right away...Mid's can't play with Pac players!!

Kidding but will be interesting to see how her stats compare, ULL had a very below avg schedule for a top Mid Major last year.  I am sure her stats exp the HR's will be down but it will be fun to watch and see how they compare.

Sanders move to UO is big for sure.  I think they are the front runners to knock OU out.  IMO a questionable call last year changed the whole momentum of that pivotal game.  Just don't know if Oregon has the pitching to match Oklahoma?

Glasco will have to find a way to replace DJ plate production and who fits in at SS.
Has anyone else officially transferred out ?
I hear there is a transfer coming in from Lamar.

Agreed. Oregon could most definitely be the team to dethrone Oklahoma this season. They are the deepest teams in the country as far as pitching goes, and both have offensive fire power.

In the eight games she played against teams that made at LEAST the super regionals, Sanders' numbers were better than they were against everyone else

Sanders had a 1.537 OPS last year overall.

In the eight aforementioned games, she had a 1.661 OPS, going 11 for 24 with 5 HRs, a 2B and 4 BBs. Two HRs off Alexis Osorio, and an HR each off Kelsee Selman, Allie Walljasper and Sam Show.

Trivia question:

You people act like Sanders has built her stats off of chump players.  This girl has had success against SEC/Big 12/PAC 12 pitchers in the past.  The year that she played for the junior national team, I believe that she lead the team in hits, RBI's and batting average.  She will do fine against PAC12 pitching.

My post might not have came of right.  I think Sanders is great and will continue to do great there as well.

Just a famous Oregon/PAC poster on this board likes to discreet Mid players a little. Now I bet he will be a HUGE fan of Sanders..Sanders like most successful Mid players will do just fine at Oregon just like she did for ULL..

As evidenced by JMU losing a host regional gig against Fordham and NC State and then losing in a hosting supers gig the next year, too, the critique of those teams' numbers being inflated by not playing three-game series against big-time P5s is valid IMO

The arguments came over RPI and the committee mostly. Some people, such as yourself, bemoaned what you believe to be unfair RPI and committee supression. I countered that the mids not getting the benefit of the committee's doubt was, the vast majority of the time, the right move.

I had very little argument with the RPI??  I think I probably said JMU might not have deserved to host this year.  If we look back at all my post I don't recall saying much about the RPI other than it's really hard if you are a mid to have a high RPI.  The SEC/PAC love the RPI expect when the math don't work in their favor.

You love bringing up that NC State year...Is JMU the only one to ever host a regional or super and lose?  Didn't just 2 years ago #1 Florida get beat by #16 Georgia in supers...Wasn't most saying that UGA wasn't even deserving of that 16 seed, it happens.  And the Super they lost to LSU was about as close of a super as you can have...JMU fell just short to a team that went to OKC and came in 3rd.

Sorry to Hijack thread.

Good Luck to Sanders, I hope she kills it!

Thanks for providing those stats.
Based on those numbers - she just might be the top candidate for POY in 2018.

The Oregon coach has probably had a hard time keeping a smile off his face - since he learned about this transfer (along with all of their fans).

She translated very well in the regional against LSU, as well as the rest of the top of the lineup. After the clean up there was a cliff that likely had inflated numbers from facing less than stellar pitching.

So does UL win the sunbelt ?  Thinking if Sanders is the only exit....

Good try, but the correct answer is:

were not good enough to play for Minnesota.
