The number 1 pitcher in her class will be our ace. Brooke Vestals I believe is her name. Also the number 9 overall player can pitch also. I don’t think Mariah Lopez will ever be able to carry OU, she does t seem to have much ball movement. Maybe she just had a rough week.

How are you so sure she will be your ace. Just because she is the #1 recruit, doesn't mean that is how she is going to play in college. The #1 pitcher in the 2017 class, Alexis Holloway, plays for Notre Dame, and has had a miserable Freshman season, ERA over 3.00, low # of k's, etc. Remember, High School ball, is A LOT different than college.

Odds Vestels will be the #1 are slim to none.

Why "slim to none"? No good anymore? Prefers soccer? What?

Gotcha. I agree, you can't expect a freshman to be your No. 1, but sometimes it works out. Parker managed it pretty well, but you don't want to expect that.

The best thing that could happen to Vestel is the OU Staff has got enough confidence in her so she can get Innings on the mound. Significant innings this Fall would be huge for her.

Looking forward to watching her progress.

I got word from inside the program that she's being granted her release and knows where she is going.

LSU would be great fit for her. Coach T. Has had an All Anercan pitcher(or 2) in EVERY class she has coached except one since she had been there I would say that speaks volumes.

I think her chances of having to sit out...if FIU fights it are slim......UNLESS she wants to go to a school in her "region" FIU could make the case easily that it will affect their program. They could release her to every school except Florida schools.

LSU is a pitchers park, and has all the exposure you will ever want. Play in one of the best conference's in the country and have a chance to play for a National title. Facilities are second to none and fan base is phenomenal if not fanatical..lol

Plus doesn't Coach T have a tie to FIU?

Lot of places to and....but LSU isnt a bad choice

Yes. When she was Beth McClendon, she coached at FIU. My daughter used to catch two of her travel-ball pitchers at Beth's pitching lessons in Weston.

Who is the best pitcher Beth has recruited?

Coach Griggs, I started working with a player right after her freshman high school season who later played for you and with Emily with the Mustangs and the Tigers after she verballed to LSU..............She's from south Louisiana and her dad is Mike............Pat Cochran put them in contact with me...........One of the nicest and well-rounded kids I've ever worked with............

Almost a guarantee that FSU is in the mix.

Unfortunately SO TRUE with BYU's Sidney Brodrick - she was totally happy at her year end interview, then within 2 weeks she was heading to FSU to play.  Of course, it was right after she worked a camp in Florida with an FSU coach.....    Seems like recruiting off another schools roster should be illegal, don't you think?

Off topic a bit but man the high academic schools are really at a disadvantage when it comes to transfers. A captain obvious observation, I know, but it just struck me when reading this thread.

I hope they do grant her a release tomorrow when she speaks with the AD. It would be the right thing to do. The coach did not grant it or indicate that he would at her exit interview last week. So if they are granting it, it’s news to her. No. She does not know where she’s going.

You may want to check your facts. ASU picked up 3 players from Fresno St and 1 from Texas. ALL of which are everyday starters. Not one sat.

I would love for her to join LSU, she would be a junior next season correct?

LSU just doesn't have many provens next year or just experience outside of MB. Then we have Sunseri, Wickersham, and Kilponen.

All very talented just unknowns unfortunately. Sunseri looked pretty good in limited action
