Shannon Saile has requested a release from FIU. The coach has not granted it at this point and is trying not to at all.

No sense fighting over her just yet. FIU Coach is behaving in a way that ought to give him problems looking in the mirror at night.

If she leaves, look for her to go to UCF, seems like a team that would be a heck of a lot better if they had a deeper pitching staff.

One for every inning on Saturdays because none so far seem to be SEC caliber (obviously besides Barnhill). I'm just upset because Ocasio has to graduate.

Well, she could stay in state, or like A.J. Belans from FIU to Arkansas, go far away

I love UCF. But why go from mid-major to mid-major? That would be a lateral move.

What i'm saying is that, I think if she transfers from FIU to UCF, she could make UCF a top notch team. They have the offensive ability, but their pitching is a question mark. They rely too much on Alea White, if they get a new pitcher, they can become a better program.

Understood. But UCF is not on her list.

Is there a link to the article? I searched google, but could not find anywhere that mentions her trying to transfer.

Wow. She's one of the best young pitchers out there and only a sophomore . Any team will be lucky to have her.

Agreed. But I don't think she would want to transfer there. Can't wait to see how OK is going to do next year. Losing lots of amazing players. What about the year after that. That is when all the junior class is going to graduate. Knighten, Romero, Clifton, Aviu, etc.

There is no article. I am her pitching coach and have not mentioned it until today when she decided that she would go public and post on her social media account that she has requested a release. I felt it was hers to tell first. She has opted to do so.

They will reload, Coach Gasso has some amazing recruiting classes coming in with top caliber kids. That 2015 class will be hard to replace but no one thought after losing the Chamberlin/Pendley/Rickettsial/Shultz Group they would return to prominence when in fact they became even better.

I will be shocked if it’s not FSU. That is their mode of operation. Need a catcher - BYU. Need an arm behind Boroughs - the Maryland coach got fired and we don’t need a release. How about about Boroughs graduates - there’s an All American in Boca. FSU does their best recruiting off other rosters.....not a knock just an observation.

Almost a guarantee that FSU is in the mix.

Ultimately, there is not a damn thing the coach can do about it. If he were to try and absolutely refuse to grant the release, she can leave anyway and enroll somewhere else. She has to sit out a year anyway before she is eligible to play. So the only thing refusing to release her does it it would prevent her from being on athletic scholarship at the new school during the year she has to sit out. But ... in reality that situation would get the coach and FIU such huge negative publicity that the AD and President would grant the release. If the end, if she wants to transfer she will.

Agreed with @nextyear

FSU seems like a great place for her to go. Kylee Hanson clearly thought so.

No chance. Her whole plan is to transfer to a big time program in a big time conference where she can play on TV a lot and play in a Super Regional and WCWS, etc.

There is a 95+% chance she will transfer to an SEC school, a Pac12 school, or FSU or OU. Given where she is from, I'm betting FSU or an SEC school

I'm thinking the chance to play frequently on TV on the SEC Network will give UF, LSU, UGA, Bama, Tenn an edge over FSU
