She only played 5ip last season due to a back injury but was such a good teammate throughout the year. She was at every single game and was definitely the loudest cheerleader for the team. It just makes me think that maybe she is retiring due to injury rather than transferring. She loved this team and loves Baylor.

Krystal Aubert from Washington to Sacramento State:

"We believe Krystal will make an impact right away both offensively and defensively," Perez said. "She can play many different positions, hit for power and is well known in the Sacramento area. I think fans will be excited to see her back home and playing in the Green and Gold. She will be a great addition in our quest to win a Big Sky Conference championship."

Identified as a "third baseman/utility player" in the announcement (she played RF at Washington), she played with the Sacramento All-Stars for two games against Team USA, starting at SS.

It'll be interesting to see how Green progresses under Sneed. She was a big product out of high school but was just okay (like most pitchers) at miss state.

It's funny that people post but don't bother reading beforehand.

Just out of curiosity, are DI transfers up or down? Is there any official data source for this information?

They sure seem to be on the rise, especially for big-time players. It seems like it used to be rare that the big schools would lose big players as often as they do now. I contribute part of it to early commits.

I posted this link a couple of weeks ago.  Nothing that tracks softball over time like a few other sports, but it has relative percentages of each sport from '15-16.

The question for me is how much of this is athletes transferring: 1) up, from non-P5 to P5 schools, 2) down, from P5 to non-P5 schools, and 3) laterally, between P5 schools, on one hand, and non-P5 schools, on the other. There are also athletes transferring from "bottom" P5 schools to "top" P5 schools (Atlee from Rutgers to Washington, for instance) and vice versa. How is this all that different from the major/minor league model, with athletes being brought up from or relegated down to "the minors" based on their performance?

College athletes have some control over it.

Kentucky has announced the transfer of P Autumn Humes from DII Harding; Humes was the 2016 (and 2015) Gatorade POY for Arkansas.

From the comments in this article:

Education First July 23, 2017 6:41 pm

Word on the street is many of the kids and parents are turned off by the coach’s style of communicating and instructing. Also the continuous implementing of God is overwhelming some folks. Take that for what it’s worth…..

To quote Dung: I believe that everything happens for a reason, and that God has a special plan for my next chapter of my life.

Not sure what your point is. Maybe the first half of Education First's response?

Hi Steve, it was actually in reference to the many recent Fresno St transfers since the 2017 season ended.  Nobody really knew what was going on or why they were leaving, so this comment is the first I have seen with some explanation to it.

Fresno St has lost like 5-6 players since the season ended under Linda Garza's first year.

I've followed the transfers to Arizona State, but does anyone know if any of the players have transferred out?

I was looking at some rosters and noticed that Fordham star Jess Hughes is no longer there as well as freshman pitcher Stock. What's going on there?

Kindra & Maddie Harkbarth are headed to Arizona State
Morgan Howe is headed to Arizona State as well
Kamalani Dung is leaving but hasn't stated where to yet
Kira McKechnie is headed to UTEP

5 after just one season...

I don't find this unusual with the 3 following Ford to ASU.

I would not find it odd had they left with Ford but they waited a year...so either Ford suggested they wait a year or they did not like the new coach.
