It's like she over-recruits players (especially pitchers) that clog her roster that should be pitching at UCSB or Sac State (in conferences less competitive than PAC 12), instead of getting that solid #2 that can go deep in PAC 12 and post season behind their #1. Obvy, Plain is the exception to this.

Does she expect these 'decent' pitchers to develop in her program when they hardly get any innings?

There are a couple things at play here. The main one is a number 2 the quality of Plain doesnt exactly grow on trees. Most schools would be pretty damn happy if they had a #1 who was an AA let alone a 2. If there were constantly those caliber pitchers just hanging around Tarr would try to get them (and in fact has tried. They were very interested in Arnold, elish and Lowary but they chose to go somewhere else). Kurosawa points out Walker and Macon who were legit #2s. Sometimes as with Macon the sa will think they are really a number 1 and go somewhere else. Sometimes the #3s will think they are #2 and go somewhere else.

I personally would have liked to see Sam get a few more innings but I dont think it would have mattered to the outcome. A skinny righty throwing 65 with a just better than average rise and an average change is not going do it as a #2 on a championship caliber team, as we saw with Sam. There is only so much developing to be done and Sam just couldn't meet the bar. Which brings up another issue.

The staff (and Glasoe specifically) tend to over value their recruits. They had a decent chance to land groenewegen but were confident in Stanchek, and bator. They were in the mix for Faraimo until they didn't invite her to a camp because they already had enough pitchers coming.

Cletis... you make a fine point about the Anderson’s Hofstra recruits. There is a lot more to that story. The players that transferred out should be counting their blessings ... they dodged a huge one! The last coach being a verbal abuser... now they get a mind game playing abuser. They made the right choice by leaving!

One would guess that Missouri fans are confused by this hire simply based on recruiting area and knowledge of the Midwest. If there is any other negatives to this coaching change that program could easily stay in dumpster till next coaching change.

I'd much rather that there was only one "transfer" thread...

Said "could", not "should". Why sink 29 pages vs. 5 pages?

Stop posting here and it sinks itself

This’ll be my last post. I was just offering. Dual threads definitely seems annoying. I wasn’t terribly attached to either one, though. So i just offered.

The way to deal with this is to pin a designated "Transfers" thread at the top of the page.

Not sure if this has been posted but A&M adds two transfers, including pitcher Kendall Potts from Baylor.
