So far we have a 2017 NCAA Softball Tourney with no upsets yet. No #1 seeds have lost, and while a couple of 3's have beat 2's, each were games of closely matched teams.

What will be the game which delivers the first big surprise?

Well do you call Fordham beating MSU an upset?  I mean Fordham was the 4 seed.

And Miss State was the 3 seed. Fordham was 45-15 and #44 in the RPI. Evenly matched teams.

Impressive how bad Vann's teams play in the post-season.

She is weird...not at all coach like any time I have seen her interviewed.  More like a cheerleader in doubt.

The over the top SEC obsession is officially off the charts, and not a good look.

I couldn't disagree more. UGA doesn't have the pitching to beat FSU. Not to mention that teams that are way below average all year just don't up and beat teams that are among the best in the country all year, on the road in the NCAA.

FSU will dominate that game IMO

Princeton is not team #61.  It's a team more in the 40s in terms of rank of the teams in the tourney.  I think they would beat Texas.

LSU only beat Fairfield 2-1, so that's a near miss.  And Baylor leads Kent State 1-0 in bot 6.

We shall see, FSU just looks uninspired and flat.

Today they did. But your right, there's a reason they play the games

That's normal. Usually not a ton of upsets early

Through first game for each team:
1s thus far: 15-0 (Norman still to be played)
2s: 13-3 (No. 2 losses in Knoxville, Los Angeles, Eugene)

In 2016 at this point
1s: 16-0
2s: 9-7 (Gainesville, Athens, Tallahassee, Los Angeles, Auburn, Lafayette, Ann Arbor)

USC-Upstate has won its first game as a 3 both years

Los Angeles--the only site with two hostings and without a P5 at 2 or 3 either year--is the only site with No. 3 wins both years

Kentucky, Tennessee, Oregon, Auburn, meanwhile, have had three P5 as visitors in two years of regionals

You consider Mizzou a number 2?  And wow, I'm impressed with San Jose St, as they have slowly built their program up over the past decade to where they can now win a game at a regional!

I do believe FSU will win, however I was a little amused at this comment. Isn't that just what UGA did to UF last year? Below average year and jumped up to beat the best team in the country ... on the road?

LOL... I don't consider them a No. 2, the NCAA did.

They were home team, wearing their whites against Wisconsin last night

The obsession makes me laugh. 5-10 years ago, this was everyone's annoyance with California teams and the PAC in general. It's funny to see it turn around.

Well, there is that. 😂 Like I said, I don't think UGA has a shot, just found the comment ironic.

Does the lack of upsets validate the committee? So far you'd be hard to argue that they got it wrong.

Unless utilizing evidence and results is foreign to how you frame your arguments.

Maybe they'll be proven wrong later today or tomorrow.

There would have been at least one more but for the lousy umpiring; maybe two.  Lot of games a lot closer than the seeding would imply.  Then again, good teams win even when they don't play particularly well.
