Would be very curious to know what Minnesota's final RPI would have been last year if softball used baseball's RPI formula.  Not trying to belabor the point, but just genuinely curious.

You're right, of course. And that only makes it that much more obvious that the NCAA will even circumvent its own policies to get as many SEC teams as possible into the Top 16.

Off to a strong start on both sides

Poison pill No. 2s in a regional, for sure

Who wants Osorio to visit in a regional? Yikes!

On the plus side for the committee, the games did not get snowed out in Alabama like they would have been had the games been played in Minneapolis.

Yes, I suppose the committee does get a gold star for that little kindness.

Well, that made no freaking sense, and I am on board with the conspiracy theory in play there.

I do not get the disconnect of the committee KNOWING they had publicized Minnesota as a seven seed on May 7 or whatever and then dropping them 10 slots a week later

I didn't think they should host on overall merits of only four top 25 games played, but once that reveal had them 7, the much WORSE transgression was dropping them to 17 for zero reason

For those of you who have seen her, does the Long Beach State ace rank up there when considering #2 seed poison pills?  Obviously she doesn't have Osorio's resume, but just curious where you would have her slotted.

If the UCLA announcer says so, who's to argue? [smile]

Man the hate gets real when you win back to back national championships and go to a sec regional and blowout the higher seed in a tough high rated rpi game. The thing all you Sec homers can’t get out of your head, maybe the best team will not be in the sec for the third year in a row or maybe there is no one capable of winning a national championship other than a Florida out of the sec. We get tired of you repping that last place Ole miss team who couldn’t score a run on the school of the blind. You have a bunch of good to average teams but no top contenders who are going to are going to make a serious run besides Florida and possibly UGA. IF you are not OU Washington Oregon or UF give up most to all hope now.

He's a good announcer, keeps biases out of his play by play

they've had problems with errors all year, this may be their worst yet however.

How about Aaliyah Jordan, once again she comes through 4 RBI in 2 innings.

Paige vs Osorio is a good matchup.   But, it's Shay vs Osorio that gives her problems.  She strikes out Shay twice, and Shay hits a two or three-run shot to win the game.

If you want to beat OU in a regional, I don't think you try to outpower them.  A good pitcher who can pitch two great games has often been a problem for OU:  Cal Poly last year, e.g.  James Madison?   Texas State?

You're right on both counts, LL.

Florida, in last year's WCWS, proved your first point. And Cal Poly proved your second point early last year (though in all fairness, that team got to the Sooners before they became the Sooners of the second half of 2017).

Oklahoma is the only one capable out of the Big 12. Dude you’re very late to the party. Chill.

C'mon, 91. The Big 12 has half the number of teams (13-7) as the SEC. Take out OU and that leaves the Big 12 with six teams. Do you really believe our bottom six could not compete with the SEC's bottom six?

You don't have to answer that. I think I know what your response would be. LOL

Yeah, she's phenomenal. I DO think that, barring a really rough stretch, Alo's HR number will simply be too big and the Sooner will get the hardware there.

The problem isn't 91's response.... it is yours.

The SEC and Pac teams would have numbers beyond recognition if all they had to play were the bottom six in their conference and not anyone else.

In the Pac, Washington would now only have Oregon State, Cal, Stanford and Utah left on the schedule.

Last year, everyone seemed to think the same thing.  Of course, Oklahoma went to Auburn and won two to get to the CWS.

But, Baylor also went to Arizona and won twice to make it into the CWS.  Unfortunately, they had to run into OU in the first round.  I would have loved to see them get a shot at Florida or Oregon in the first game.

Then, there was also Oklahoma State which gave Florida all it wanted in Florida in the Super-regionals.

Was the Big Twelve (or seven) all that weak?

Tell me, Lefty, what's a circlejerk? Never heard that term before. But you're a man of the world; you've done everything. I know you're the man who can answer that one for me.

Right!

I think beating OU with power worked just fine in 2012 and 2015.  Congrats on your titles, well deserved.
