This Harvey is just a brutal-looking event. Hopefully everyone headed way inland. I don't know if we have ever seen a hurricane like this.

25 years ago, South Florida got SOOOO lucky with Andrew.

Hope there is some fortune out there for the Texans.

I too hope there is some fortune for our Texans.  We got a great QB, but I am not sure when he will become the starter.

Now fer that Harvey feller making landfall right about now south of us, we think it will be a major flooding event for us in Houston.  We are hoping that the rain bands are far enough apart to allow for good drainage in the neighborhoods...one can hope right?  I did purchase a generator today, in case we lose power.   I heard this the other day.  It is better to have it and not need, than need it and not have it.  Lucky for us when Ike hit, my neighbor had a generator that we plugged into for 7 days that keep the fridges running and few other necessities running with a promise that I would feed his family every day with all the meat products and beer in the outside fridge.  Unlucky that he moved to Austin!

Lost power for two weeks after Wilma in 2005... Generator and 5-gallon bottled-water dispenser were huge
