The final opening day for my DD.

I just wanted you all to know that you have made this place the unparalleled home site for softball conversation and occasional major breaking news. Personally, I have mostly enjoyed getting into the RPI weeds with some top-enders who truly know their s---.

But all these conversations have been mostly wonderful.... sometimes purely informative. Sometimes an opportunity to exchange primal screams. Sometimes offering a little bit of rapier wit.

It is a wonderful melting pot here. And it does the sport we all love so dearly a great service the vast majority of the time.

Thanks

You're a super nice guy...well written but not nearly as bad in person or as bullheaded as you appear on paper.

See you at the wcws again I'm sure!!!

Well said, 3LT.

I want to add that I wish your DD and her team all the best in the coming season. That goes for everyone else here. Best of luck to all your DDs and their teams.

Including all the DDs (such as mine) who are now coaches!

Nice post 3LT.  Like you, I'm also experiencing the final opening day for my oldest daughter.  Difference is that my youngest daughter recently committed, so I still have a few more years of sharing experiences, highs, lows, occasional rants, and general frivolity with this awesome community of people that are just as passionate about softball as I am.

Can't believe how fast it goes by, but it has been a hell of a ride.

To everyone's DD's, wishing you all the best for the upcoming season!!

Incredible ride my friend. Hopefully we can see each other again in the end. Today's my DDs last opening day. Fighting these tears even as I type this. Hope everyone's DD has a monumental season and career. Let's Ride Gators!!

I am fortunate to have experience my first opening day last night. And other than wanting to start popping acid it was great. Pretty nerve wracking experience. All good now though.

Also fortunate to have posters like 3left who will ALWAYS give their unbridled, un-biased opinions on the daily softball. Wouldn't want it any other way.

Cheers to your kid 3!
Mine ended her journey last June, earning her degree on time and recovering from surgery to repair an ACL tear and double meniscus tears.
Other than that, a wonderful ride.
Weird not planning a bunch of trips, including a drive to Tempe this weeekend for the first time in many years.
Thanks for trading thoughts with me the last few years, and especially for being my sounding board during her freshman rollercoaster ride.

College Softball is by far the most pure college sport.
It makes me so happy to see California's game has become Americas game. It's a shame morehaven't caught on, but it's great to have a forum full of people who have.

Enjoy this Senior year 3LT, It was very bittersweet for me. But i enjoyed the ride. Lot's of memories and meeting people along the way. Also following kids from the travel ball days has been fun. Good luck to you and your DD. I have a feeling you'll be on here from time to time after graduation.

Cheers

My daughter's first opening day was in 2004, hard to believe that 14 years have gone by.  But, at that time, the UCS posters were so generous and helpful.  I got to meet some in my travels and was always warmly welcomed.  Some even took pictures of her on the field and sent them to me!

I'm still here enjoying the game.

Glad to have this opportunity to show my appreciation!

I would have loved to have met you in the shadow of Mac Court, hard along the headstones before a game with both of our girls wearing the green

Thanks!

So different now with the new stadium.  Howe Field had its atmosphere but it was time to go.  I was personally responsible for getting Mac Court bathrooms open!  I really enjoyed my time in Eugene.
