Another Big ten thrashing this weekend, as expected. Winning that Rutgers series last week is saving them from being in the basement of this conference!

Beaubien was not nice to the Terrapins today.
No-hit them.

Well a lot of pitchers haven't been nice to them these past 3 weekends, hahaha. Who in the world is in charge of their hitting?

No one expected them to beat Michigan, but being outscored 26-1? Below is what I posted before the Rutgers DH. So without Rutgers the margin of loss is 92-9. With Rutgers in there it is 102-22. That's 80 runs down in 11 games. Does anyone think this team has improved over last year? In the over all scheme of things, they are really terrible. Did Tori Tyson or Victoria Hayward make a difference? This is Julie's team, the one she built and they are BIG 10 doormats.

Here are the scores of the last 6 BIG 10 games for MD Softball:
11-0
7-1
20-2
10-1
9-3
9-1

That's a grand total of 66-8. This is beyond a disaster. Throw in a loss to a middle of the road St. Francis and it is more ridiculous. Their record is pretty much in line with what people were thinking, but these numbers take it to a different kind of low. Julie can't get a coach to teach the pitchers or hitters. What happened Tori?

No improvement at all TruDat. They are struggling at pitching, fielding and hitting. Its definitely troubling that they are struggling to hit like this when the majority of the batters was on this roster last season.

This is the team and the coaches that she wanted. She ran off all the people that she didn't want on this team so at the end of the day she is responsible for all of this losing!

So just out of curiosity I googled their baseball stadium to look at pictures to compare.
Can anyone say Title IX?

Good to hear a new stadium is in the works. Title IX does not mean that equal money has to be spent on baseball/softball.  Rather mens sports vs women's sports. Midland College is an excellent example. Although their softball facilities are a disgrace in comparison to the baseball facilities they do spend the same amount of funds on Men's vs Women's sports.

Once upon a time Hillenbrand was called the Yankees Stadium of softball.
Candrea wants that said again.

They aren’t doormats at all - 7-10 is respectable.

Have you seen what has happened to them these past 3 weekends TheNarrator? Indiana, Michigan and Illinois would like to have a long talk with you about your statement. You know they started the Big ten season 5-1 and their last 2 Big ten wins was against horrible Rutgers. They aren't on the Rutgers level of being bad but they are pretty damn close!

Doormat means one of the bottom teams in the league - there are several worse.

The Big Ten is way down from what it normally is.  In any normal year, this year's version of Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers or Maryland would be lucky to win more than a couple of conference games.

Well there are 14 softball teams in the conference now. The teams in the bottom of the conference are just beating each other and that is why they are getting those wins. It would be much different if the conference had just 10 teams. The top half of the conference is still looking good!

I'm happy that this site is back. I was worried that it got shut down and I had to go back to dealing with the compromised testudo times, hahaha.

The team is probably worn out from all the over practicing, constant long road trips and all the other craziness behind the scenes. Thankfully their season is almost done and the players can finally get away from all of the BS!

Another weekend equals another sweep for the Terps. At least they made it interesting in the final 2 games!

Nine runs a game in 3 games. With the other weekends even more atrocious. I thought the transfer and the freshman were going to be tutored by the new pitching coach. Abysmal. Maybe the Pro job will be a little easier.

Yeah this has not been a good month for these 2 pitchers. They have been exposed big time. A lot of their early wins came against weak non-conference opponents and teams at the bottom of the Big ten. Maybe the coach should've had more faith in the pitchers that was already on the team instead of taking a bad packaged deal!

I don’t keep up but it seems like Maryland has had like 5 head coaches in 10 years and every year the fan base (on this forum) wants a change.

Sooner or later, the Terps need some stability don’t they?

Prowler, you need to do a better job prowling. This is their 3rd coach and this is her third season. One coach had a one year stint. Nobody wanted Courtney to leave.

OK, third coach since 2014.

All I seem to see year after year is a Maryland “fire the coach” thread on this site. It may not be titled that, but that’s always the sentiment. In a good year, it’s just ‘fire the assistants.’
