Here's a small interview Ralph and Karen did back in October after Fall ball. There's some in depth in what to look forward to this season. From some reports on Tennessee's fall games it sounds like the lineup might look like this:

1. Aubrey Leach-2B
2. Jenna Holcomb-LF
3. Meghan Gregg- SS
4. Brooke Vines-DP
5. Chelsea Seggern-3B
6. Haley Bearden-C
7. Ashley Morgan-1B
8. Amanda Ayala-RF
9. CJ McClain-CF

Other players like Scarlet McSwain, Katie Weimer, and Abby Lockman started last season and will probably see playing if there are struggles in the lineup or for game plan purposes.

Most interesting part was Ralph and Karen mentioning that Ashley Morgan will be the 4th pitcher for Tennessee, so you could see her in a role that Rainey Gaffin held a couple years ago. The talent is there for Tennessee to have a special season and make the WCWS.

The weekly's coaching will likely snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

All I said was they have come up short as of late

Talent is there to make a major run

My criticisms of Torina are correct

We all know she is trash as a coach and as a person

Thats taking a shot  [smile]

Was one of them Sierra Romero..?
Sierra has really struggled against Monica. I think she has struck out against her almost every time she has faced her.

I think they do too but they will have to beat a really good team in the super to do it.  Probably end up with TAM again or another SEC team.

I'm old and my memory fades me. How often are there any really bad teams in the supers?

they seem to hint that anything but the SEC is weak.

Supers are always a gauntlet. Matty Moss is one of my favorite pitchers to watch. She loves the game. I wanna see her jump right on into the WCWS. They should taken out A&M last year. Harrington shouldn’t have been a stumbling block. I always root for the Vols, right after my Gamecocks! Lol

Rogers is not on campus yet. Morgan, a current freshman, is. She pitched some in HS here in Georgia and would very much fill the Gaffin role with her innings.

Word from people inside UT's program is that Brooke Vines is out for the year with an injury.  Definitely a blow to OKC chances.

It will be tough for the Vols without Vines. She is the team's second best player, and without her I don't think UT has enough hitting. The bottom half of the lineup was weak last year and looks to be much the same this year, though at least one freshman will be playing regularly. The Vols will have to lean on their pitching--which should be better than last year--and players like Seggern, Lockman and Weimer have got to hit--and not just early in the season but against SEC pitching. The Vols started the season today with two victories, beating Boise State and Arizona State, so a good start. Seggern and McSwain both homered against the Sun Devils, which is encouraging. McSwain can hit some homers because she's got the swing for it--but that swing is also why she doesn't hit for average and struggles when UT gets into the meat of its SEC schedule.

The Weeklys are funny: the recruit /very well/ and yet seem to miss filling key holes. The Vols went years without having enough pitching depth, and without having a left-hand pitcher. They've got both this year, finally--but they badly needed to get a good right-hand bat both last year and this year--and didn't do it either year! For all the talent, UT doesn't have a single dependable right-hand stick, and that could prove a problem. We'll see. I do hope Leach gets more recognition this year--she is easily one of the best leadoff hitters in the country but doesn't get enough notice.

Arnold gave up one hit against OSU and No hit UMASS over 6 in relief of Sprang. Also no hit UCD so I think your “awful” comment is off the mark.
