"The ranking announcements will have no bearing on the final bracket that will be revealed on Sunday, May 14."

Article title should read:
"ESPN and NCAA try to drum up interest in post-season by peddling a bunch of nothingness"

Just trying to get a good swing in and drive it up the middle. Unfortunately, my posting game is a lot like my golf game:

A lot, lot, lot of shots, but in a short amount of time.

That was their publication last year at this time, correct?

If so, they weren't very close to how things ended up, but not way out of the ballpark with respect to how they seeded the top teams.

Committee to reveal top 10 on ESPN2 in a few minutes - after this 4th inning ends between Oregon and Arizona

And in case anyone should doubt my ability to predict what the committee will do, my prediction below correctly predicts all 10 teams, with 8 of the 10 in the exactly correct spot.  I had Wash 5 and Aub 6. The Committee swapped those 2.

I know you just used the most recent RPI, but there's no way LSU (which has now lost 7 of its last 8 SEC games) would be #12.  We saw the Committee's top 10.  My guess at 11 thru 16 would be:

11. Oklahoma
12. Baylor
13. Alabama
14. Utah
15. LSU
16. Kentucky

The RPI has UCLA #6. The Committee dropped them 4 spots. They've played 22 games vs top 25 teams and have the #2 strength of schedule in the country (Wash is #1 SOS)

No dispute. And I understand the RPI. Still, 12 losses seems like a lot.

It will be interesting to see what things look like in a week. IMO, Oklahoma is better right now than UCLA, Oregon, Texas A&M and FSU. Watching Arizona beat the daylights out of Oregon pitching today makes me appreciate the game OU's Parker had against the Cats a month ago. I think PP K'd 13.

If OU wants to be a top 8 seed and host a Super, I'd say they must sweep Baylor or at a minimum win 2 of 3 and not lose again, including winning the Big12 tourney.

Wouldn't at all be surprised at 11. Sooners at the 6. Huskies, if that is how it turns out.

Can someone please give Sierra Hyland a plane ticket to Norman? My gosh, what a slosh through the Big 12 can do for the braggadocio

RPI is flawed when a team that is 3-13 in conf has an RPI of 26. What a joke.
