It was not I.  Think maybe it was Lefty.

I'm calling Arkansas to beat Georgia tomorrow.  SC and Fla win.  LSU too, I think.

I think he goes with Gettins.

No benefit in burning out AO. We can’t get any higher in seedlings and we got the win we needed.

Does an Arkansas win clinch a host gig, and a loss clinch a road gig?

Does a Georgia win clinch a Top 8, and a loss clinch a 9+?

I would guess that an Arkansas win clinches a host gig. And I think a UGA loss clinches a 9+ seed. But I'm not sure UGA clinches a top 8 with a win. The Tenn vs LSU winner and So Carolina still have something to say about that top 8.

Arkansas def clinches a host gig with a win. I’m indifferent on what I would like to happen with TN/LSU as it relates to competing with SC for that 8 seed. We have the head to head over TN. Idk. Tough stuff. Just hoping for a win over State today, and moving on.

I say yes. The extra game should help with the RPI some which UK and AU now won’t have.

And as sucky as it is bc the other pitchers are doing well, the committee now has an excuse to use with Grays injury.

UGA was 36-5 prior to Gray's injury, and 7-5 after. I anticipate they Committee will not give UGA a top 8 seed.

A bit misleading in my opinion.  I bet many of the SEC teams have similar splits when you consider all of the wins pre-conference.  Georgia won 2 games AT TENNESSEE without Gray.  2 of 3 from MO without Gray.  2 of 3 from Kentucky without Gray.  2 of 3 from Alabama without Gray.  And 1 of 3 from Ole Miss.

If they win a game or two in the SECT, I would still have them in the top 8.

So the consensus seems to be that if Ark wins, they host. But what if they lose? Are the definitely traveling? I think it's still pretty iffy, tbh.

I am of one belief right now....Baylor isn't hosting unless they beat Oklahoma (if they even play them in that oddball Big12 tournament)

I think this must be right, given the numerical metrics.

Also, I don’t like to call players out, but Veach popping up in the 5th and 7th really killed both rallies.

Veach has been a big disappointment for me. I really hoped she would turn the corner this year, but I think she has gone backwards. It’s tough to win games when your 7, 8, and 9 hitters are pretty much automatic outs against decent pitching.

I haven't been able to watch very closely so far today, but South Carolina seems to be in control in the 6th leading 3-0.

I agree and wrote something similar. But do you agree with this - if Baylor does win the Big 12 tourney with a win over OU, then they definitely host? I think so.

Great win by South Carolina. I'm looking forward to this next game. Can Arkansas pull an upset?

The "oddball" Big XII tournament, as Lefty refers to it, features pool play tomorrow, with the winners of the two pools meeting in the championship game on Saturday. There are no semifinals, per se.

Oklahoma State (2 seed) and Baylor (3) are in one pool with Texas Tech (5). Oklahoma (1), Texas (4) and Iowa State (6) are in the other pool.

That means for Baylor to beat OU, they'll have to win their pool, which means beating Oklahoma State first (OSU swept the season series).

The editorial comment for everyone concerned about whether Baylor will get a host slot is that to get in that position with the NCAA committee, the Lady Bears certainly have their work cut out for them.

Would take a miracle for Baylor to beat Oklahoma (like you said, they may not even play each other). The Bears are good enough, however, to make a little noise in the R/SR if Rodoni gets on a roll like she did last year.
