bhblue arelady answered.  Don't know don't care.

Woodward is merely taking somewhat normal conversations at the white house and endlessly just saying 'bizarre' or 'chaotic' or 'unhinged' as he repeats the story.

Here is the actual conversation, which to me sounds like the President having a guarded conversation with a political adversary.  Nothing more.

I will double kaploo's internet bet that this amounts to nothing.

Dems interrupted over 60 times and 70 people were arrested yesterday.

Grassley couldn't even get through the sentence before four more were arrested.

Why can't these people let our government work?  Why do dems not accept the results of elections?

Why can't the republicans release all the documentation needed for such a monumental debate? There's something fishy here. 40,000 pages released on Monday, supposed to read and evaluate by Tuesday? Impossible. It's a ruse. Now they can say they released the information, but the dems were just lazy. Typically dishonest approach from this administration. They'd better hope they don't lose control of the house in the midterms, there will be hell to pay for actions like this.

More information released on this nominee than any other SCOTUS nominee.

He's been approved before.  GOP passed Obama's nominee's, why can't the dems accept the results of an election.

I guess because McConnel wouldn't allow the vote on Garland. Tit for tat seems to be the latest political strategy for both sides of the aisle. Until they come to the conclusion that nothing of value is going to come out of the government until they decide to work together, we are going to be faced with shams like this Supreme Court selection and boondoggles like the tax cut for wealthy Americans. It's about time they realized this.

For some reason Twitter doesn't have the Kavanaugh hearings as a trend...not even in the top 20.

The screaming from the loony left has gone on all day today in the confirmation room, I think that explains terpalum's absence

Kavanaugh sure seems like a great guy.

Massively stark contrast at the left losing their minds on the podium and in the courtroom.  It is like they have zero self control.   How could that possible forward democracy and us coming together to make this important decision.

Gotta love how trump has one of his people ‘write a nytimes oped declaring chaos in the WH’ just as kavanaugh confirmation rolls. Dems go squirrel, once again take their eyes off the ball. Meanwhile, Trump loading the fed judiciary, while dewfreshkazoo remain mired in issues that pale in comparison to what trump is doing with the Courts. You boys are not very bright.

An example for the simpler thinkers who aren’t smelling what I’m cooking...

“If Dems had used their power to draw out the votes on the 15 judges they agreed to fast-track last week, today McConnell would've been forced to choose between delaying the Kavanagh hearings & delaying the noms. Instead, he easily rebuffed Schumer's attempt to delay the hearings.”

THIS^^^^

Turtle may be eGOP, but he knows the value of appointing conservative judges at a breakneck pace, and moreover how to use Senate procedural rules to stack the judiciary. As an added bonus, He waffle stomped the minority leader and watched him swirl down the drain. Well played Turtle.

Say what you will about him, he has delivered Trumps biggest victories and could be the reason he gets a second term.

He is the one getting things done, but there will be a price. Forcing legislation and changing the rules about how the legislation is passed, will come back to bite the republicans. There is common ground on the issues confronting the nation, but this rudderless administration doesn't see the value of such a course. We will, at some time become the majority again and if this inflexible atmosphere continues, be warned.......things will only continue to get worse. There will be no incentive to change.

Seriously, have they changed the rules on how legislation is passed?

Eliminating super majority in instances of important legislation and appointments. trump felt they should arbitrarily remove the necessity of a 60% majority to pass legislation. The super majority is in place to force arbitration and bipartisan cooperation on matters of significant import. Like supreme court and budgets. I don't want to hear where it started, it is wrong, change it.
