I would be surprised if Barnhill transferred to OU but not if she transferred.

I would assume Florida might block OU as a school she could transfer to.

I have stopped feeling the little bit of sorry I felt for Saile after Lombardi left. ;-)

Good news for the Sooners! I’m sure Florida will find someone else capable.

Oh Sooners, take Saile and Roacha...We know, you coming down here to Florida trying to grab our players and coaches...We get it, Gasso is in meltdown [rofl] ...We still have Barnhill, who drives me nuts, but she works hard and likes to swim to get ready for softball.  So we got that going for us, which is nice(Caddyshack)....

I'm wondering what the reasoning was behind her taking this job. I find it unlikely they were willing to pay her enough more that FL wouldn't match it. Is this like her Stanford for Allister? I hadn't heard that, but that would be understandable.

I wonder if we'll see Saile leaping around like a gazelle and losing the ability to throw her change?

So here come the Rocha catch coach posts.

Reasons to go to OU

Recent success

Top of the payscale

New stadium in the works

Stacked talent coming back

Top recruiting classes coming in

That would be good enough for me.

I know nothing about FL's stadium situation but how is any of that other stuff different than at FL? And as to the stacked talent coming back, OU's pitching staff is decidedly more unproven than FL's.

OU talent flow a lot better than UF's right now.

And, such an easier path to OKC

Is it?

OU has out performed them at the WCWS but UF has had an easier route the last 10 or so years (maybe 5). How many years has UF been seeded below OU. Funny thing is the recent “let down” in recruiting at UF might be the pitching with Lugo and Chronister.

Yes, much easier

Pitching and hitting.

Bless Jordan Matthews and her late heroics and .827 season OPS, but she is the best offensive player after Amanda Lorenz.

And, now he doesn't have the Ocasio net for the circle, or Rocha

In a way yes. But it also affords them missteps that OU doesn’t have.

When’s the last time UF had to go on the road for a supers?

I think the fact that they took at least one playoff loss in supers or beforehand from 2016-18 speaks to my point. And, in 2015, they had a 1-0 extra-inning win in regionals. Took a loss in 2014 supers. Last time UF went through regionals and supers (indeed, all at home) with a 5-0 record and winning every game by more than one run was 2010.

Much easier to go into postseason with the lack of stress that goes with a Big 12 or ACC schedule. Players are fresher IMO
