Alissa Dalton   Oklahoma
Keeli Milligan   Texas A&M
Sarah Hudek   Texas A&M
Raina O'Neal   Texas Tech

I'm thinking all four will be starters.

Looking at the roster, there are seven other transfers...

Julie Rawls    Northwestern State
Tiana Patrick  Santa Ana College
Brittany Holland   Central Arizona College
Morgan Gray   Blinn College
Kali Kitsinis   Santa Ana College
Kendall Talley   Lamar
Bailey Curry   Toledo

That's 11, 8 this year.  Does any other team have this many incoming transfers?

Players want to play for Glasco. They know he understands the whole game and they'll become the best they can be without the drama. That's what the Big Ten schools don't understand, you hire a Stanton or a Perry you get the same talent year after year. You hire a Glasco or a Roberts and you step up your game.

Raina O'Neal and Brittany Holland both also transferred last year. Holland was the starting second baseman but tore knee ligaments during the opening weekend and O'Neal had to sit a year due to transfer rules as she was not released by her former school. The Cajuns also had a couple of senior players (Kalyn Watts from SELA, Brittany Rodriguez from Lamar)who transferred in last year and graduated, and one who transferred from a JUCO after her freshman year and then left the Cajuns after the year (Kynadi Tipler).

O'Neal and Holland was there last year also so they don't count as this season transfers.  I believe some of the schools listed are JUCO so after two seasons players have to move on.

Hopefully more to come... GoingBackToCali has it exactly right. You hire top tier coaches with strong p5 ties and a reputation for no BS and making players better, you'll get players wanting to go there.

Never hurts to hire someone that is willing to do anything to get top recruits.

Louisiana has lottery scholarship money available. The colleges there don’t have to spend a penny of scholarship in softball or baseball on in-state recruits ... they can offer a lot of full rides to out-of-staters and probably always have some extra scholarship money available for transfers.

Odd to see a transfer pitcher with a record of 12-33 last two years on the roster.

Based on the fact the 2018 team hit almost a half a point lower than the 2017 team, this would be a good bet.

Would be even more odd to actually see her in a live game.

I think the decision maker (s) in the Big Ten totally understand (s)....they just don't want the conference leaderboard to get rearranged. Plenty of very good coaches have tried to break the vail without success.

I have been pretty impressed about what he has accomplished as the head of the program.  He came into a program that just had its beloved long time coach fired.  He immediately lost the significant talent on that team to transfers.  Didn’t get a fall season with the remaining players, basically had to find a lineup during season.   He was able to overcome all those obstacles and still win over 40 games.  Almost won the conference, got to the final game at regional, and make it close.  Off the field he has kept the fan base.  He has become well-liked by the administration and the community. Upgraded the facilities, brought in more talent, generating excitement for the upcoming season.  Not sure what more you could ask for in a head coach.  A+ in my book.

I agree on Glasco. He has paid his dues,  been looked over / passed on for no obvious coaching or character reasons, led as much as allowed as an Assistant and AHC...and probably one of the top 5 hitting coaches and recruiters around. Not to mention two NPF titles I think. Given his NPF teams were loaded but he still had to earn the ladies respect and deal with some pretty strong personalities while doing so.

I think the Cajuns got a heck of a pick up!...and great timing with the dumpster fire in aggie land.

Wish him luck in Cajun land!

There are plenty of people who would say Glasco has questionable coaching and character issues, but those people also (generally) wish him well.

ULL is a good fit for him.

Cajuns will be 51-4 on May 5th, depending on rain outs.

In how many of those did the cajuns have a 1st team all American and pac-12 pitcher of the year pitching for them?

I think they absolutely can at least split with oklahoma and will have a good chance in every other game. Ellyson will be better and having someone like kleist to help you out of jams can do wonders.

I think the big problem may be the schedule. Oklahoma is the only likely top 10 team they'll see. Will 2xok, 2xcal, 3?xbaylor and 2xore st be enough with the rest of the schedule? My guess is they need close to perfection for a top 8 (and even then it depends on how other teams do), top 16 much more realistic.

Please list who you classify as "good teams."

I'm not sure what your point is, other than to list this statistic, but there is a new coaching staff in place.

Very well put together, can't wait for the season to begin in one month. This years team has the makings of a team that can do some damage, come tournament time. Geaux Cajuns

IMO this Louisiana team has the chance to be one of the best in programs history. For years it’s been are Louisiana’s players good enough to battle the “big girls” but this year the team is made up of power 5 conference players lol. This team will be very good and with Kleist leading the team it can most definitely get to the WCWS.

Lineup:
1.) Keeli Milligan CF
2.) Kara Gremillion 3B
3.) Alissa Dalton SS
4.) Sarah Hudek RF
5.) Lexie Comeaux C
6.) Raina O’Neal LF
7.) Brittany Holland 2B
8.) Bailey Curry DH
9.) Kourtney Gremmilion 1B

This lineup has power all over. Keeli Milligan will be running crazy at the top of the lineup. I think the wildcard in the lineup is Raina O’Neal. She hit 12 homeruns during her freshmen year at Texas Tech and I think she can hit a lot more. On the bench you still have Julie Rawls who hit homers at NSU and a lot of speed in Readeaux, Gray, Talley, and Patrick. Mass can maybe be a late inning defensive player

Pitching:
1.) Megan Kleist
2.) Summer Ellyson
3.) Casey Dixon
4.) Carrie Boswell

Louisiana finally has a no doubt Ace. There are not too many pitchers better than Megan Kleist in the NCAA. Only ones I think are better are Barnhill and Garcia. Everyone one else, Kleist has a case against. Summer Ellyson is an excellent pitcher as well. She went toe to toe with Ocasio, Barnhill, Hoover, Walljasper, and Rodoni. Dixon and Boswell did well last year also. This Louisiana team will not have to throw Kleist every inning.

The scheduling is very favorable. Only real threats they face are Cal, Baylor, and Oklahoma. The schedule may be the only thing stopping them from getting a top 8 seed. As those are the only Power 5 conference schools they play.

However, I don’t care who you are, you don’t wanna play Louisiana this year.

And why is that?

It's too bad SJ28 doesn't want to say who the "good teams" are. Many may have a different idea of who those good teams may be.
