Except that there was no mention of Lopez whatsoever.
Mariah will play a decent size role in the 2019 Oklahoma season...
much like she has in the past two seasons.
She may even have a bigger role in 2019.

Yeah, I'm so impressed with Lopez that I completely forgot about her. She will get starts early out of loyalty but she has peaked talent wise. Come tournament time it'll be Saile and Juarez carrying the load.

This past Fall(albeit this was before Juarez) OU found out pretty quickly they were going to need a rotation of several players in the circle to win games just because we didn't have anybody who could go a complete game against good competition. Unless you're a Stud good teams are going to get your timing down once or twice through the lineup.

I know KIP likes PH defense back behind the plate. Rachel Garcia like throwing to her, I agree that Pack is better offensively but I think we’ll see TP in more of a PH role again this year.

Boise State's projected lineup for 2019 (2018 Mtn West Champions) - as far as I know that is:

INFIELD & OUTFIELD

Catcher - Morgan Lamb - Senior - Played in 37 games - Started 21 games - 2018 BA .288 (80 At bats)

1st Base - Allison Seng - Sophomore - Played in 56 games - Started 53 games - 2018 BA a team leading .439 (157 At bats)

2nd Base - Justene Molina - Sophomore - Played in 53 games - Started 42 games - 2018 BA .246 (126 At bats)

Shortstop - Rebekah Cervantes - Senior - Started all 56 games in 2018 - 2nd in BA on team in 2018 with a .427 BA (178 At bats)

Third Base - Uncertain who will start at third this season unless Seng starts at 3rd and someone else starts at First Base

Right Field - Ashlyn Adams - Sophomore - Played in 51 games - Started 49 games - 4th on the team with a .402 BA (122 At bats)

Center Field - Kora Wade - Senior - Started all 56 games in 2018 - 5th on the team with a .380 BA (184 At bats)

Left Field - Jessica McKay - Junior - Started and played in 55 of 56 games in 2018 - 7th on the team with a .351 BA (171 At bats).  There is a possibility McKay may be moved to 3rd base this season as she has played in the infield during the 2017 season.  IF she does in fact move back to the infield then it seems very likely that Cal transfer Bradie Fillmore will be the starter in Left Field as that's where she played in and started 55 games last season for California.

DP - Uncertain who will be the DP for 2019

STARTING PITCHERS

Kelsey Broadus - Junior - 2.55 ERA in 2018 - 14-8 W/L - 33 Appearances - 21 Starts - 11 complete games - 123.2 innings pitched

Gianna Mancha - Sophomore - 3.16 ERA in 2018 - 13-4 W/L - 26 Appearnces - 23 Starts - 8 complete games - 113 innings pitched

I have no way of knowing as I'm just a fan of the Boise State softball team.  BUT my suspicion is that one of the three returning starters in the outfield will play in the infield next season thereby making room for Cal transfer Bradie Fillmore to start at one of the three outfield spots.   IF that does in fact turn out to be the case I suspect that will be Jessica McKay as she did play in the infield for Boise State during the 2017 season.   However she did not play in the infield last season for Boise State.

But that could be all wrong.  There are some very impressive freshmen that have joined the team and perhaps one of them will earn the starting spot at first or third base.  Seng played both 3rd base and 1st base last season so she will almost certainly be the starter at one of those two positions.  Question is who starts at the position that Seng does not start at next season?

However the fact is Bradie Fillmore is listed as a "Utility" player so perhaps she will play 1st or 3rd base.

5- Shaye Bowden - C - SO
6- Allee Bunker - 2B - FR
7- Mia Camuso - 1B - JR
8- Jasmine Sievers - SS - FR
9- Haley Cruse - RF - JR

Pitching:
1- Maggie Balint - JR
2- Jordan Dail - SO

The only other players would be: Darya Kaboli-Nejad (SR), Hannah Galey (FR), and Lexi Wagner (FR) but what really frightens me is the number of pitchers, you CANNOT play an entire season of softball with only 2 pitchers on the entire roster.

Great point, unbelievable to think of only using 1 or 2 pitchers , year after year.

Sincerely, Mike Candrea

What does roster have to do with it ? lol . Might want to check stats , over the last 5 years , 2 pitchers have pitched 90 % of the games. Wow, in 2014 , he actually used 3

Yes...but Oregon has two kids who can throw underhand on the roster.

Big difference

Exactly. Only having two options available to you is much different than having several options and choosing to use two.

If one pitcher gets injured, what then? How long can you ride one arm?
