I know we're all having difficulties with the economy,  but I have to ask everyone a big favor.  WhatDoIKnow took this website over for me and if it wasn't for him,  this site would no longer exist.  He's the one that does all the scores....  him and his wonderful family.

He recently went through a terrible financial situation with the floods in Tennessee.  He lost so much and he didn't have flood insurance.  He has had to dig into all is resources to provide for his family.  He's a tremendous person and loves this game more than anyone I've ever met.

I ask those that can afford to donate,  please go on the UCS front page and make a donation to the website.  The donation button is right under the great picture (that I took    WhatDoIKnow needs our suuport and our help.  I begged him to put this donation button on the site because I feel he needs to know how much we appreciate what he does for the college softball community.

In case you don't know,  UCS does not make money.  Like myself,  he has been unable to find the right people to be willing to sponsor UCS.  It's donations that will help make this site grow and also make things a little easier for a wonderful person.

Thank you for reading this

Robo, could you also provide us with a mailing address as many people find it easier to send in cash or a check.

Done.

Steve, thanks for the update.

Also, I have a suggestion.  Can you set up a recurring donation method?  I know that many other sites do this and it's a painless way to donate.  Even if it's as little as $2, $3, or $5 per month I'm sure a lot of us would pitch in.  $5 per month would be a pittance to most of us but if a thousand people do that it would make for some serious change to help WDIK and his family understand what this means to us.

What say you?

May I just note....that Robocoach, and WDIK have done a tremendous job of keeping this a non paying site. Donations are key for this site.

Done.  I'm sorry it's not more, but if everyone who posts or reads could send in just a little bit, I know it would go along way. For all the banter that goes on this site, threads with 20+ pages about why the SEC is better than the PAC-10 and vice versa, can't we all just do one great gesture for UCS and send in some money to the people that make this happen?

I challenge all that post to send in any dollar amount: 5,10, 20, 100 and post on THIS thread that you've done so.We've probably all at one point or another put our feet where are mouths are on this site, why not put your money in the same spot?

Ok, I'll throw down the gauntlet.  I think this web site is worth at least $1 per month.  I'll say it's worth $2 per month.  I think we'd all be willing to pay one of those two amounts in appreciation for the work that WDIK does.  I don't think it's out of line nor painful.  But, there's no way to have an automatic payment yet.  I hope it happens soon.

So, here's the challenge.  Look at your "Registered" date on the left of this screen.  Count the months that you've been a member of this community.  Dig deep and cough up at least $1 per month that you've been a member.  $2 if you can afford it.

Then, going forward, donate $2 per month to keep the site going.   You can do it monthly, quarterly or annually, but put something on your calendar to remind you to do it.  It's not much and it certainly would be a shame if this site were to go away.

What do you say?

Robo,

I challenge you to set up a recurring monthly payment schedule through Paypal or some other method so that we don't have to remember to do it.  Can you?

Thanks for keeping this site running and providing us with a place to explore our obsession.

Happy to note, the site works on ipad, making it easy to keep in touch while in the stands at the WCWS.

Please keep this thread at the top of the college softball page as a reminder.
I, also would be happy to pay an annual amount if you could give us an idea of what might help? $12-24-36-etc.I realize maybe all can't pay, but if you gave us an idea of an amount that would be helpful, I'm kind of shooting in the dark.
I love the site & don't want it to go South for lack of funds.

Done,
this is the one message board, I would be willing to pay a monthly fee for, but I also realize we would lose some posters, so I will try to remember to donate every so often, and if you there is any danger of the board going under please let us know!

If we donated one cent for every post we read, this site would be rolling in cash.  If we donated ten cents for every post we authored ...

Well, of course, the posts would drop dramatically and the site would dry up.  This would defeat the purpose of donations.  If there's one thing I've learned in 35 years of management is that you get what you reward.

Made my donation.  Nowhere near the .10 required by Dunnin, but at least someone benefited from Alabama's SR loss (and thus my subsequent sell of my WCWS tickets and then use of that money earned to donate towards this site).  Hopefully down the line I can donate more as well.

Hey oldscout, you know my opinions are only worth $.02, or thereabouts.   I'll round up.

I can tell you that sometimes when working on UCS it's so overwhelming and it's getting late at night and you'd rather go to sleep than finish the scoreboard......  and you wonder...... does it really matter?   I know WhatDoIKnow and his family realize it really does.

If you want an snail mail address,  please PM me.

Thanks everyone for helping a wonderful person.
Robo
