I have some colleagues who are relocating out of Sh1thole So Cal to Palestine, Texas. I'm curious what my Texas brothers (KIR, Woody, whoever else) think of that area.

Pro Tip---If you are a douche (dewfreshkazoo) then your 'opinion' means nothing, so head back to the libtard threads. Thanks for your cooperation.

Good area, out of the rat race.  Closer to Dallas than it is to Houston.  Look at a map of Texas and go south on 287 down to Groveton Texas.  My best friend from Grade School and the Marine Corps lives there on 20 acres, another ex-deer hunter, ex-cop friend near Groveton on 100 acres. and I spend a lot of time there.  Tell them to buy land wherever they move, they don't have to live in Palestine.  I call Crockett, TX God's Country.  Overall great area, not the time to move to Austin, too much congestion.  Away from DFW metro and Houston metro, huge thumbs up

Also, close to Shreveport, great city to visit especially if any of them are gamblers.  Palestine and 100 mile radius, Huge trees, get to the hardwoods or if they like pines?, little congestion, Nice vacation spots, they'll be glad they moved

I would say that if these colleagues are looking to assimilate, great place to call home. Fine country living + reasonably close big city access. They will, however, be cussing pulpwood haulers within the year. Still better traffic than Cali I imagine.

Thanks for the info. Indeed. Looks like a good location, I like the bodies of water that seem nearby. How are those?

I've never been but have heard Lake Palestine and Richland Chambers are both good bass lakes.

I haven't either Lake Sam Rayburn and Lake Livingston are as close as I got to Palestine.  Lake Palestine stands to be nice because of the area it's in.  Great, great people, low crime

Liquor stores or the lakes?  There are a few dry counties in that part of Texas for sure, don't know where they all are, so they can search before they buy. heh heh

woody must be doing the leather thong thing this weekend, or seeing those twin grandsons.  The leather thong shrink when it gets wet?
