I'm so out of the loop this year but Zoe Conley seems to be a really good pickup for Cal. Hope Ninemire doesn't destroy her during non-conference, she's pitching a lot already.

Alexis Mack 13-for-17 with a double and two triples this weekend in Columbia

ZERO extra-base hits last year at South Carolina as I can only assume she was relegated to pure short ball.

What a get by Mike White and co.

Corvallis looks likely on the radar.

Seattle 95% chance of rain from now to tomorrow afternoon.  Up to an inch and a quarter, which is not so much for some of you southerners but in Seattle, that means pretty steady from now until tomorrow afternoon in quantities sufficient to prevent softball from happening.  Hopefully the forecast does not pan out.  Baseball players and Seattle weathermen are, the only ones who can hit 300 and stay employed.  That is why I look at the radar.  It does not look promising.

LOL, olddawg!

Yeah, an inch and a half down here is an hour's worth starting at 4 p.m. on a July 15... and then it is gone

Agreed.

It's just too much of a jumble at the top to give up games against the middle.

By lose, do you mean be defeated or have games cancelled?  Or both?

It really remains to be seen whether or not there will be a jumble at the top this season or how thick it might be.

Oregon has yet to be tested at all.  UCLA has been a little erratic. Alvelo has been great for the Dawgs, but how will she hold up.  Who knows about Arizona pitching depth and endurance.  It should be real interesting to see how it all plays out.

What kind of genius schedules the Pac 12 games with the northwest schools hosting at the beginning?

Uhh, I don't know because you can get rain into April .  Btw, Some areas of the East coast needed snow blowers this week and had to cancel.

I guess the recovery time is more of an issue in heavy rains.  I have seen at Jane Sanders Stadium a heavy non stop down pour for a hour and a half with the infield covered.  As soon as the rain stops you are ready to go in about 15 minutes.  It has a fairly extensive drainage system under the field.  A sand base is good but you have to move the water away or face a longer recovery time.  When they were building the JS stadium I saw the drainage system uncovered.  It was a grid work  of drain pipe under the surface

Don't hold your breath.  Softball is not that big of a deal at UW.  If they were going to do that, they would have done so instead of the minor remodel on the existing facility.  They don't even have permanent press box.

They would have to move the entire facility in order to put a dome on it.  No room where they are.
Not really any room anywhere else as things are currently laid out on that part of campus unless they take up revenue producing parking.
