There's a new softball podcast started by the two Alabama radio guys (I'm one of them) who follow the team all throughout the year called Out of the Box. Patrick Murphy and Emily Pitek are the first guests, plus breakdowns of the team this year and of the entire SEC. The show's Twitter account is @OutoftheBox_Pod, and the link for the show is:

Check it out and let me know what y'all think! Or, if there's anything you'd want to hear on future episodes, pass that along too!

New podcast episode! Here's the fourth episode of the softball podcast "Out of the Box." We break down Alabama's trip to Texas A&M and what the first loss means, discuss what happened in the SEC last weekend, talk more about replay in college softball, list our favorite places to eat on road trips so far in the new segment "Tom's Hungry", and more.

Two guests this week. First, it's the In The Circle-Out of the Box crossover event. Eric Lopez joins the show to talk about the second RPI, possible host surprises, Georgia's struggles, Rachel Garcia, and more.

Then, the great Jenny Dalton-Hill from ESPN stops by to talk about replay, the Arkansas-Tennessee series, Kentucky, the UCLA or Oklahoma question, and Washington.

New podcast episode! Here's the sixth episode of the softball podcast "Out of the Box." We break down Alabama's series loss against South Carolina and how the team stands going into the second half of SEC play, possible pitching rotations whether Montana Fouts is back or not this weekend, a discussion on which lineup works best, and what happened in the SEC last weekend.

Then, ESPN Analyst and one of our friends from the 7 Innings Podcast Amanda Scarborough joins us for an awesome conversation. We discuss the messy SEC standings, where Alabama stands nationally, the legitimacy of Auburn and LSU, concerns about Tennessee, Arizona's chances in the Pac-12, WCWS darkhorses, and the five teams that right now Amanda would feel pretty good about picking to make it to OKC.

Then, we have a new segment called "On Our Soapbox," where we talk about officiating in softball and what has to change in this sport. Finally, we make picks for this weekend, present an abbreviated version of "Off the Wall," and then tell you about a great restaurant in Columbia for "Tom's Hungry."

It's too bad that a successful program like Oklahoma's doesn't have a podcast like this. Good stuff!

We do our best. Hard to deny a team playing as well as anybody in the conference right now.

New podcast episode! Here's the eighth episode of the softball podcast "Out of the Box." We break down Alabama's series loss to Kentucky and then preview the Alabama-LSU series that will likely be for the SEC regular season title.

Then, ESPN and SEC Network softball analyst Kayla Braud returns to discuss the upcoming Alabama-LSU series on all fronts, Ole Miss’ impressive season, Florida’s chances to host Supers, and the three big non-SEC series coming up this weekend. Plus, Kayla provides her thoughts on the official podcast stance on the out of the box rule.

After that, we deliver our second edition of Bracketology with some explanations, followed by picks for this weekend and the return of a new, epic, occasionally-heated "Off the Wall" segment.

We've got a new episode! Here's the Fall Ball Special of "Out of the Box."

We open analyzing the fall ball games and the performances from many of the new players, plus we dive into what the Claire Jenkins injury means for her and for Team 24.

Then, we answer mailbag questions about Alabama's potential 2020 lineup and a few other topics. After that, we preview the 2020 schedule, discuss the US National Team, and decipher some of the new rules coming to softball.

Then, we finally get a chance to discuss the crazy coaching situation at Mississippi State and the various transfer portal moves made during the summer.

Finally, we provide some way-too-early SEC picks, an epic "Off the Wall" that covers softball AND football, and a new edition of "Tom's Hungry" that lists some of the best places to eat when visiting Tuscaloosa. Plus, an announcement about a special project coming in the months before the 2020 season kicks off.
