I have no clue, just crickets from Eugene

Has Lawson extension been announced at Kentucky yet?

Anyway, if not her, if is going to have to be a leap of faith to some degree

Berg?

Deifel?

Glasco, with Cheridan Hawkins??? as pitching coach

Spazs comment is obviously somewhat disconcerting....LOL

Kelly Ford from Fullerton grew up in Oregon

If it's a bigger 'name' than Eriksen, then I will be officially shocked

I would doubt an extension with Lawson would have anything to do with her decision to take another job.  Where I believe it is always about the money.  I do not believe that would be the case with Lawson.

I can't see her leaving the Commonwealth for Oregon.  She has a job in Lexington for as long as she wants it.  And Kentucky is not afraid to pay their coaches.

If she left it may be bc she feels like she has a better chance to win in Eugene than Lexington.  But seeing you almost have to google it to see when the last time a Pac 12 team won the title, I think the odds are about the same for her in either city.

Blah blah blah

The Pac finished ahead of the top SEC team this year, and will again next year

If she stays in Kentucky, it is purely based on comfort level.

And that is a great place to be in life

Give me a break. When you have pitchers that dont give up 23 runs in the supers you can talk about even getting to the wcws, let alone winning it.

Presumably Lawson is content where she is and there is nothing wrong with that. She may have even gotten a bump in her new contract with the duck's showing interest, good for her.

But given where that program is and where the ducks have been, and are from a talent perspective, saying they are on equal footing for winning a championship is idiotic.

Cal St Fullerton is not that good so not sure why the Ducks would even be interested in Ford. Big backwards step if they hire her.

Assuming it's Ford and her staff, how does escobedo do? She hasn't coached top-tier, all-american pitchers and is 26 yo. She also is going to want to be involved with her own olympic bid, i would imagine. That would worry me as a current or prosepctive pitcher and as a fan. Not exactly the type of top tier pitching coach i was expecting.

Best bet for Oregon to hire Spencer, knows the climate of program and loves Eugene.  Big plus is the players have expressed their support!  Very well could be a mass exodus of current players and recruits if she is not promoted!

Who would come and be her pitching coach? What would the rest of her staff look like? She was a second assistant at OR until everyone else left. It's tough to take over any program, let alone a top one like OR from that position. It's not impossible but i dont blame the ducks for looking at someone with more experience, specifically around pitching since they know first hand that pitching is the key.

The only knock on Lawson may be her recruiting.  She will have to recruit great players in either place.  Oregon's roster is probably much better than UK's right now.  But Mike White is a great recruiter, that may be hard for any coach to keep up with.  Yeah they have the cool nike uniforms but that only goes so far.

Lawson like every coach in the country needs to get a top pitching recruit to compete at the highest level.  You are crazy if you think she has that much advantage in Eugene vs Lexington.  Oregon has great facilities, I was told they came to UK to look at and model some of Ky features, so UK has great Facilities.

Ky has bourbon, horse racing, and great basketball, ESPN, convince for many of the players family to get to and from.  Close to Atlanta, Chattanooga, Chicago and some of the other best softball in the county.

Oregon has the Hazelnut, rain, nike, and long and expense flights!  By the way, UK has really cool nike stuff as well along with NBA players always around campus.

Yeah no doubt Oregon is ahead of UK at this point, but let's not act like it is a so much a better job.  The only thing they can really offer Lawson is money, and if they were willing to pay that much more they would have made a better offer to White.

PAC never should’ve finished above the top SEC team. Without the help of an umpire UCLA never would’ve won that game and Florida would’ve continued on. So much bias toward the PAC all year.

Yes. With her they are a contender for a spot. Without her, no chance. She's played with them sporadically so I'm not sure of her intentions, but OR pitching coach is a full time job I would imagine.

That said, I saw a hundred dead-ball balls not called for UCLA.... don't give me jack squat about UF getting screwed
