Maybe some folks will realize Lombardi is worth-her-salt, shall we say...........

And, all-the-while, here she is installing a maybe different culture.........Seems to me to be a multi-tasking successful venture so far............

Jordan strikes out Jordan in all 4 at bats last night - including to end the game... with the tying run on 2nd base.

Jordan Dail struck out Aaliyah Jordan in each of her at bats in Oregon's huge upset win over UCLA.
Aaliyah had struck out 15 times in her 119 plate appearances before last night's game (7.93 PA per K).
It was 1 PA per K vs. Jordan Dail last night.

Dail struck out TWELVE Bruins last night. She struck out at least one in every inning - with 3 in the 1st and 3 in the 6th.

UCLA batters had averaged 3.72 strikeouts per game... before last night.  Dail mowed down a DOZEN of them.

Would anyone that visits this sight... have predicted Dail would beat UCLA...???    I don't think so.

It was a magnificent performance by Dail!

And let's also give credit to Oregon's offense for scoring four runs vs. UCLA.

Tremendous job by you Oregon Ducks.

It is not often that a team ranked 40 some places below the #1 team...  knocks them off.

Enjoy this amazing win.   You earned it.

I was honestly hoping that Dail wouldn't get hurt this series. It was good to see the ducks come away with a win.

I am going to surmise that Rachel Garcia has never -- at any level -- had someone go 4 for 4 against her as Jasmine Sievers did yesterday.

2/24/17  Oklahoma 10 UCLA 1

Caleigh Clifton was four for four, and Shay Knighten hit a grand slam.  I guess it wasn't all against Garcia since she was bombed for 7 runs in 3.1 innings before  being relieved for the remaining 1.2 innings.

I heard Lefty believes Rachel should pitch and play first base in the same game.

Sydney Romero played both third base and shortstop in a recent game...
and she looked really good doing it.

Anyone but a complete doofus would know that I was referring to playing both positions at the same time.

Jordan Dail should be the national pitcher of the week.

She pitched a 3 hit shutout against California in the first game of the series...
and then a 6 hit shutout in the second game of the series!

They decided to give her some rest after throwing 221 pitches in those first two games...  and they started Krueger in the circle for game 3.
Krueger got the first batter on a ground out to first base... but then the next 6 batters all reached safely - and Oregon trailed 4-0.
They brought CF Haley Cruse in to pitch...  but she gave a up an RBI single to the # 8 batter - and Oregon trailed 5-0.

Finally... they went back to Dail (who didn't even get one full inning off).
Jordan came into the game with runners on 1st and 2nd - with just one out.
She was facing their #9 batter... and she got ahead in the count 1-2. But Nunez kept fouling off pitches - until she finally got a walk.
Now the bases were loaded - with one out... and Dail is facing the top of their order.
Jordan got their lead off batter to pop out to third base - for the second out.
Then she struck out their #2 batter on a 3-2 pitch... to get out of the inning - and leave the bases full.

Dail then shutout California for the next 6 innings - surrendering just 4 singles, two walks and a HBP.
Her teammates managed to score three runs... but that wasn't enough  as they lost 5-3.

So... for the three game series... Jordan Dail pitched 20.2 innings and gave up ZERO runs.

This is her stat line for the series...

IP     R  ER   ERA    H   2B   TB   HB  BB  FB  SO   SO/FB    BA   OBP   SLG  OPS   SO/7  FB/7   EBH/7
20.2    0   0   0.00   13   3    16     4    7   11  22    2.00    .178  .286  .219  .505   7.45   3.73    1.02

She threw 337 pitches.

8-3 Portland State after 4.  Haley Cruse now pitching.  With a split Oregon gains no ground and I feel will have a hard time getting back to .500.

I think Oregon has a 5-plus-run inning in them to get back in this

1-2-3 in the 6th for Dail as she reenters the game. Just a huge tip of the hat to her. What’s she’s done this season is so impressive.
