8/41 is 0.195xxx so round up and that's 2 outta 10. Not bad vs. the Ducks.

My thought as well. The David vs. Goliath outcome doesn't happen often unless God is on your side.

Tonight's series at home against the Wildcats should be interesting...I have a weird feeling that Arizona might come into Eugene and take 2/3 from the Ducks.

Stranger things have happened.

The amount of home runs the Ducks have hit in Farrington and Hillenbrand since 2009 do not compare.

Do not compare .... with what? English!

They hit more HRs at Hillenbrand during their Arizona series last year than the Wildcats did, with Arizona facing underclassman pitchers the whole weekend

Oregon's Gwen Svekis hits one over the fence!

And again!  What an at-bat and I don't even have TV

Shannon Rhodes - my favorite player!

Svekis must be Candrea's worst nightmare. 5HR in 20 Career at bats since 2015. She might get sniped if she goes yard again this wkd.

Svekis 2HR
Mulipola 2K

First game to Svekis.

Don't blame the players.  A coach that can pick on weak teams but does not teach and does not use strategy ( there is the fence, hit it over it) is the problem.  No one questions that Arizona brings in top athletes.  Athletes the other schools would die to have.  Then, with the exception of home runs, they only get worse.  Oregon bunts to Arizona's surprise and goes on to win.  I don't know much but I am disgusted to watch each year such talented kids left frustrated.  And what  you see is only half of what is going on.

It really is more than eight years.

You still have not identified yourself so we can see why you hate Candrea so much.

Rain delay in Eugene. Oregon up 5-0 after 5.

If the thing doesn't resume, do they resume tomorrow, or is it called an official result?

Az will not be headed to the wcws for the 8th year in a row. They just dont have the necessary singleminded pursuit like the top teams do have, Oregon being one of them.

I hope you are wrong but I suspect you are right.  Why don't you expand on the reasons why and we can debate.

You ask who I am.  I am a longtime fan who has watched the program slide.  We have blamed coaches who are no longer there.  We live each year on one pitcher who gets figured out and burned out.  You have half a team that sees almost action, regardless of whether we are winning big or losing badly.  We have batters who are really good when they arrive at Arizona and never get better.  In fact they get worse.  If we can't hit home runs we are unable to hit.  Have you ever really watched an Arizona dugout? Little cheering, certainly not ongoing cheering, unless they know Mike is angry.  It is quieter this year but the unhappy  parents don't have to say anything.  I never ask.  But time and time again I have heard how their child was going to be the next star and then sits.  Now we live off of players transferred in half way throughout their college career.  I am sure those sticking around wonder if they will ever get a chance.

If you disagree with me speak up.  My title tells all.  The grumbling is everywhere but no one wants to call out the facts.  I have to put this response on the Oregon website because no on even cares anymore to write on the Arizona website.  The followers have disappeared on this site.  Fan attendence is gradually decreasing except for big games.  Every year since 2010 has blamed the players (now singleminded).  i actually agree with the singleminded but the real question is why.  Somebody has to speak up about the slide that continues.  Our school and the program of softball deserve better.  It is nt the players fault in such a bad approach.  I am the defender of a great program and wonderfull players.  What else do you need to know?  Disagree with me if you like.  i will be happy to admit I am wrong.  There is a serious problem.  Knock off that is the players who are the primary problem.

Our play today was uninspired and not aggressive.  At Washington their announcer, Daniel  Lawrie, certainly a talented player was talking about how the Washington pitchers were not having to change what they do because Arizona batters were not changing.  Today you have cold, wet weather so Arizona bombing home runs was not going to happen.  i saw no adjustment at the plate.  Those of you who are experts tell me what was changed.  i bet there is little that can be mentioned.

Kudos to Oregon and your players.  i do not by any means want to degrade your program and/or players. You are a talented, well coached team.  Arizona is talented but....

^  It's a combination of things, probably in this order:

1) Candrea is a good coach who has been surpassed by at least a dozen others in terms of approach to players and recruiting.   Remember the mass firing by text?  I don't know him, and maybe he's an awesome guy everybody wants to be around, but from a distance he just seems like a sad, angry guy.
2) Kids nowadays don't even know how dominant Arizona was in the '90s, so that advantage is long gone.
3) Nancy Evans was the heart of the recruiting in the 2000s, and was a really good pitching coach.  When she was fired, recruiting and pitching instruction when downhill.
4) With so many great programs now and great college towns, Tucson just doesn't cut it for a 16 year old thinking about an exciting college experience.  I mean bar hopping can't be a town's main attraction.
