<< I’m going to respectfully disagree with the order of the pitching staff I say saile is number one. I think Lopez and vestal Will battle it out for two and three and Conrad as 4 and mendes as 5 >> (Kelly1192)

We both see Saile as the most likely #1 pitcher.
I hope you are right... and Vestal is strong enough to battle Lopez for the #2 spot.
That would be a very good thing for the Sooners.

Right now... I'm leaning toward Lopez at #2.
If Vestal becomes the clear #2... (or the clear #3 pitcher)... that would be a very good sign for the Oklahoma pitching staff.

Regardless of the pecking order, I think what we'll see is a very good, very deep pitching staff. Maybe not as talented at the top as Paige Parker, whom Gasso called the best Sooner ever in the circle, but certainly capable of getting OU back to OKC.

Agreed. Rating a pitching staff from No. 1 thru No. 3 or 4 is subjective and an exercise in futility. It really makes no difference as long as the staff – and the everyday players – get the job done. Your No. 1 pitcher in March may be No. 3 in May or June.

Don’t discount Lopez, if you look at innings this fall, 1 and 2 are clear cut. You can take your pick which one is 1 and which one is 2, IMO innings will be close between the two. 3-5 will all be valuable and help make a complete staff. They will all be needed for this team to be successful.

What about these players transferring from ASU? Would any give a look to OU?

The more appropriate question might be: Would OU give a look at any of them?

I'll bet they'd like to have that lefty pitcher. Sooners have had some good port-siders recently.

I have zero doubt Gasso would love to have a lefty, as she has a strong affinity for them.  However, would Juarez be "happy" with her role in a pool with 4 other pitchers? Somebody will be butt hurt and pushed down the line-up (would that cause anyone current to leave?).  Would make more sense for her to go to a program where she can be a #1 or at least a 1a/b.  Oregon's situation would make sense.  I am sure there are other programs that could use her for sure. Wish her luck in whatever she decides.

You say Juaerez wouldn't be the #1 @ OK? Her 2018 stats alone dwarf OK whole staff combined.

Ye, she'd fit in nicely as the run away #1 I'm thinking

Is she / will she be a clear #1, 🤔.... Consider the # of innings she threw at ASU, would you think she’d repeat that at OU w/ the staff they currently have? Would Vestal be content w/ losing possible innings? Would Saile for that fact as she transferred in?
How many players are content to just exist on a team?
Could Juarez fit in? I have no doubt she would. At least at OU she’s have offensive and defensive support.
Again, good luck wherever she lands.

Vestel hasn't shown she can even throw at this level, let alone be in a position to 'lose' innings. She's a #3 at best right now. Lopez was 14-0 with 4 wins in Conference last year. Saile,  brings wins over Florida & South Carolina as part of her 38-22 Mid Major record. Parker is still a question mark I guess.

Vestel has been penciled in as the 2nd coming since she committed. Be interesting to see how they get her the innings necessary to prepare. Because if she gets some early opportunities and struggles...as most Freshman do, you won't see much of her. Besides, Saile & Lopez will most certainly carry the team. The bigger issue arises if Saile struggles at this level. I'm confident Gasso will get her prepared.

Juarez pitched 224 innings with 300 so (1 of 3 p5 pitchers with 300), 1.22 era, with 13 shutouts (3rd) and was a 1st team AA.

Any team that didnt give her a look that doesnt have a bonafide ace (or 2) of their own would be crazy.

Gibson may be a tougher sell. Shes a very good player but she wouldnt really be an upgrade from Knighten (other than shed be around longer)

No, not close to a healthy Shay Knighten. No contest.

Yes, Juarez would be the clear #1 at Oklahoma (and pretty much anywhere she went - with very few exceptions).
Unless Giselle has some injury - she would be the sure #1 at the start of the season... at Oklahoma (and almost everywhere else).
PG would be thrilled to add her to the OU pitching staff.

But... if Shay is unable to get back to her healthy self - Gibson would be a nice player to have fill in for her.
