Here's the 2018 schedule for your (two-time) defending WCWS champion Oklahoma Sooners:

http://www.soonersports.com/SportSelect.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=31000&SPID=127251&SPSID=750355

Non-conf opponents include South Carolina, Arizona, Arizona State and then Oregon and Oregon State in a late-April jaunt to the Pacific NW. Can't wait!

They play a 54 game regular season schedule...
with 22 home games...
and 26 games against 17 schools that reached the post season in 2017.

Not that having a high RPI has mattered the past two years, but OU  would be helped by Baylor continuing to be strong, by the continued improvement at Okie State and if Texas would be stronger.

By that I mean not having to travel for a super regional -- though I get it that a number of folks think OU playing the SR away from Norman should be the Sooners' penance for the WCWS being hosted in OKC.

Yes .... that schedule has the looks of one put together by a coach who has zero worry if she gets a 9-16 seeding.

Who's to argue with her.

But, without that Oregon add-on.... it would be pretty putrid

Beware of those Mid Major teams that could sneak up and bite you on the Arse [biggrin]

You mean mid-major pitchers that will bite you....

Even that won't happen next year with that docket

Sierra Hyland.

Probably somewhere at the OU Softball Complex, Patty's hung a big photo of that pitcher along with stats from the two games she threw against OU last year.

Humility is an important virtue.  As hard as it is sometimes, you've gotta stay humble.

Oh, Janie! We're counting on that game with the 'Cats at MNC to skyrocket our RPI!! (Well, that one and the one against Team Japan.)

Not to take anything away from Hyland but oklahoma at that point in the season and oklahoma at the end of the season were two different looks. I wish she would've matched up with them in the postseason.

Knighten wasn't fully healthy and that's enough for me to know they weren't the same team.

I saw Hyland pitch against us and she did a great job. Yes it was early in the season, but if it hadn't been a misplay in the outfield, which was scored a hit, they might have won that game too. I also think that Knighten as good as she is, wasn't the answer in those games. 7 total hits in two games was part of the problem.
